It's the Hall of Fame Game, and that's usually televised from what I can remember. I'll try looking around to see if it's on.

e: 8:00 EDT on NBC

I thought Tagliabue did a terrific job during his many years at the helm of the NFL. The game has never been more popular, and with the current salary cap any team has a chance to win every year. Many teams built new stadiums in his era. Lots of money was made. The Players Association and the Owners maintained constant contact, too. Truthfully, I think you're going to be one of the few to complain about him.

The lowly Cardinals are going to be competative this year. I think that's proof enough that it's working just fine.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Either that or Santana Moss is going to have to play a huge role again. I don't even know if it's possible, though, without at least a competant running game.

Stephen Davis would have been a nice pickup for the Steelers, considering Duce Staley is a joke nowadays. I'm sure Stephen Davis' abilities have deteriorated, but he has to be better than what we have now. The Rams will do well with him, too, though. Steven Jackson isn't exactly a power back.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I've never even heard of the guy, though. His name is Cobbs, and he's some rookie RB from the Patriots organization, and he seemed to have a fairly good preseason, but I don't know if he's gonna do the same against first string defenses. He doesn't even seem like a real power back, either, which is what we really needed. We'll see where this goes.

I really don't know what else can happen to Ben this off-season. A horrific motorcycle accident, and now an appendectomy. Unbelievable. At least we have Charlie Batch, a semi-competant backup.

Other than BigCunt's case here, that really wouldn't have effected the outcome. Except for prior in the game, the Steelers are a dynamite goal line team, and would have made it into the endzoen regardless. Duce or Haynes could have pounded it in, Parker could have made it to the outside, or we could have made a short pass to Heath Miller, Nate Washington or Hines Ward.

Well duh, Wojo. :P

The Cards vs. 49ers game may not have been too exciting for the rest of you, but since I had a possible $3000 payday riding on them winning, I was into the game almost as much as a Steeler game. The end was torture, but the Cards did end up pulling off the victory. Thank god.

Oh, and my fantasy did pretty terribly. Save Frank Gore. Whoever dropped him a few days ago is probably regretting that right now.

Wojo you can't joke around about such a serious issue. This is the NFL we're talking about.

Also, the Steelers blow today. Bring in Big Chuck, already.

And, hey, the guy I was facing in my other fantasy league had Willie and Hines still left to play. I guess I won that one, considering the both of them gained about 10 yards.

Both Oakland and New England have already had him for tryouts.

And yeah I'm still fuming over that Steeler loss.

Does it say anywhere what type of painkillers these were? I don't like TO at all, but I really don't think he tried to committ suicide. He was probably in a lot of pain from all the injuries he's had over his decade or so in the league, and simply overdid it. I find it hard to believe that he would attempt suicide solely to garner more attention, anyway.

It's sounding more and more plausible now, what with the fact that his girlfriend or fiance left him. We'll never really know for sure.

He is pretty likely to puncture his spleen, after all.

Anyway, it should be a fun game to watch tonight. I'm looking forward to it.

Goddamn, at least Gradkowski looked good. As for the Steelers, I actually just got back from a cruise to Cozumel today, and I met some of the coolest fuckin' Steelers fans ever. One of em, which I had a pretty long conversation with, looked just like Bill Cowher. Not that it means anything, but just reinforces the fact that I have yet to meet a bad Steelers fans.

/suckthesteelersballs
Yeah, man, Steelers fans are incredible. And they're everywhere. I remember when I was about 13 going down to Florida to visit my grandma for winter break. It was in the heart of the football season, and the Steeler game wasn't on any of the local channels. This wasn't a problem, though, because we just went to a Steelers-fan-exclusive bar/restaraunt. It was so great seeing all these Steeler fans so far from home.

And I know I saw a bunch of Steeler jerseys and Myron's Terrible Towels in the crowd in San Diegio. ='D

The Cardinals' lead is dwindling. They're only up by six points now, with about four minutes remaining. Here's hoping the Cardinals can pull off this huge upset.

e: And now the Bears returned a punt for a touchdown. They're up one.

It's looking good. They're already set up for a short field goal, indoors, with Neil Rackers at kicker.

e: Unbelievable.
