I'm sorry to only be talking about the Penguins in this thread, but god damn was that game amazing. It may just be me being spoiled by seeing so many of the games live, but the Pens have to be the most exciting team in hockey.

Tonight, for example, The Pens had a 18, 19, and 20 year rold player score a goal. Plus, that 20 year old (Evgeni) made an absolutely [i]spectacular[i] move off of an equally incredible pass from Crosby. Just wow. Good times.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well, you did say that the Sabres have scored 20 goals of their goals at at least the caliber of Malkin's goal. Which is impossible.

Plus, word on the street (also the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette) is that we'll have a new arena underway sometime in 2007.

For those not in the know, though, the Hill District is the worst area in all of Pittsburgh.

Sure is.

Also, did the team actually trade hands yet? I ask because when I was watching the game yesterday I heard the play by play guys say that the taping of the game was the property of the Lemieux Group.

See, that's not the issue. The city didn't want to fund a new arena and the new owner (The Blackberry dude) would have moved them most likely if this slots deal fell through. It's not like the Pens actively wanted to move. I mean, most of the games are near soldout, so it's not for lack of fan support.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well yeah. I was just saying for this specific case that's what would have happened. I mean, we do have the oldest arena in the NHL.

So he's basically the bad parts of Mark Eaton and Sergei Gonchar combined? I feel bad for you guys.

Yeah, that's it. No need to get all defensive, Wojo. I know he's a great member of the Pens, too.

Or we could trade Gonchar for an actual defenseman. We already have enough talented forwards.

What a win for the Penguins in Atlanta. With only 4 minutes to go in regulation, the Thrashers tied it up, but no matter since Colby Armstrong was able to make a brilliant OT goal for the win. What a fun game to watch, especially when you have Mike Lange blaring from the radio.

Add to that the fact that he's a native Pittsburgher, and you have a very promising team that would be all the more likely to stay put here in Pittsburgh.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The Pens did look terrible, but I think it's far too early to get rid of Therrien. If we finish this season with a sub-.500 recond, my senitments may change a bit, but the season just started. Fans of all sports call for the firing of the coach way too early, and way too often. They can only do so much.
