[General Discussion] FFVII Compilation Thread

Animatronics (robots made to look like people, animals, etc.) can look pretty realistic. Just look at the dinosaurs from the Jurassic Park ride and King Kong from the...King Kong ride at Universal studios. I still can't believe they took Kong out for some stupid Mummy roller coaster...

I know it's CG, but you know what I'm getting at.

And how do you get those parody subs working on just the computer? (Don't need to burn it to dvd.)

I downloaded the movie again so I could watch it with those parody subs, but I can't get them working. Anyone know how?

A harder Safer Sephiroth would be nice. He was such a bitch. And the final final battle in Cloud's subconscious should be an actual fight instead of OMNISLASHWTFPWNED. And get Mandy Moore or someone of equal skill as Aeris. Mena Suvari isn't gonna cut it.

I really hope they don't use the FFXII battle system. Call me old-fashioned, but I'd prefer the same turn-based system for a FFVII remake.

Wow. And I thought it sucked before that they didn't redo the lipsynching. Now that I've seen some of it in action...

They could have at least changed the lines, if only a little, to match the mouth movements. Holy god it looks bad.

Since my girlfriend works at Blockbuster, I got a chance to see it a little early, and it's actually not that bad. They at least try to make the lines fit in with the lipsynching and there aren't that many glaring problems, like Yuffie's "Who's touching my materia" line. Mena Suvari still sucks as Aerith, but not as bad as in Kingdom Hearts 2. I'm strangely comfortable with Cid's accent. I guess now that I know that his accent in the JP version is Osakan, it's a little easier to swallow. Haven't watched it in Japanese yet, but I have a feeling they just use the exact same script for the subtitles. Dilly dally shilly shally made me want to vomit, but apparently, that's what's supposed to be said, from what's shown in the 25 minute Venice Film Festival Footage.

Not quite. They don't show any of the fight with Sephiroth except for the bit where he slices the big chunk of building into four sections and comes down for a closeup. (The one in the trailers)

Hate to break the topic, but does anyone know where I might be able to get a replacement Cerberus gun for the Play Arts Vincent figure? I broke the damn thing trying to put it in his hand and I'm certainly not spending another $20 on another figure to replace it.

Just beat the game tonight and I have to agree that aside from the story and music, it's not all that great. Vincent does all the fancy moves in cutscenes and turns into a normal platforming character during gameplay, and a lot of the invisible barriers were just stupid for a game in this day and age. And those damn cardkeys... Don't even get me started on that.

Did anyone else find the other weapons to be utterly useless? The two rifles you get are rendered moot when you have the Sniper Scope. I found myself using Cerberus for the majority of the game. One thing I was confused about was

Weiss appeared to return to the Lifestream when he joined with Nero, yet you fight him again in the last battle. Wtf.

Also, fuck you SE for giving Red XIII all of six seconds of screen time in the ending and not a single line.

I might just be nitpicking, but FF7 Sephiroth doesn't look much different from AC Sephiroth at all, except for a slightly different face and less buckles on his cape/coat thing. Not sure I wanna pay the same price or more for essentially the same figure. =/

I definitely like FF7 Vincent better than AC Vincent. Looks like you'll actually be able to move his arms and put him in some decent poses. AC Vincent could barely hold out his gun.

Well, it seems there's one of Red XIII. You can see him in the corner of the picture with Cloud and his motorcycle.
