Looks like the Assault Rifle from Halo 1 is making a comeback. Awesome. I wonder if the Covenant Banshees and dropships flying past him means that Earth and the Covenant will be working together to beat the Prophets. It certainly seemed that way at the end of 2.
Could've done without the Monty Python and the Holy Grail fanfare though. Finish the Fight and Bring us a Shrubbery - 2007 Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
If they go back to Halo 1 weapons, then they'd better do away with dual-wielding. Halo 1 deathmatch was bad enough with one pistol. Think of the horror two pistols would cause.
Some of Halo 2's weapons were good. I actually liked 2's shotgun better than 1's. And the needler was actually useful when paired with another needler or an SMG. The Battle Rifle and the magnum made me want to vomit though. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Why is it that morons with video cameras always record what they're supposed to for a couple seconds and then look completely away from it.
![]() And the "gameplay videos" are just bits from the Brute Doc. =/ How ya doing, buddy? ![]()

Ahh, it's good to see the Arbiter is still around. Definitely looking forward to his scenes with the Chief.

I picked up the regular edition last night and had an all night LAN party with about 12 people. Epic shit. I was a little jealous of one of them when he was showing off his Legendary helmet. From all the pictures I'd seen on fliers and from what I heard from GameStop clerks, I was under the impression the helmet was the size of a baseball and was essentially a paperweight. I had no idea it was more or less life-size and meant to house the whole trilogy. Still not really worth an extra $100 though, imo.
The controls take a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you start to wonder how you got along with the old setup. Slayer was great fun, but I think we had the most fun with Infection. We turned off the radar and tweaked it so that the zombies were slow, but could jump really high, putting a rather large dent in the whole "Get to higher ground and camp" plan. Also, Save one Bullet mode makes it really intense. We started playing the campaign at around 5:00 am and so far it's pretty good. Spoiler:
Oh my god, the weapons. The needler is vastly improved and is actually useful. Halo 1's Assault Rifle! Flamethrower, Halo 1's Pistol, sans scope and not overpowered. Brute Pistol and Shotgun, Swords with ammo! I think I can safely say that this is THE best Halo, surpassing even the original in balance and fun. Halo 2 left a bad taste in my mouth, but 3 took everything that was wrong with it, fixed it and made it better. That'll do, Bungie. That'll do. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
