I like the tiny colorful frogs that are highly toxic. You know, the ones that people lick to get high (might be another frog or toad lol). I know the whole frog marriage the people are doing is strange, but at least it helps them cope for now by slightly easing their worries.

You might be thinking of the family of frogs known as Dendrobatidae, the poison dart frogs, which are small and colorful but no one licks them.
At least, no one licks them more than once.
They're rather beautiful, and lose most if not all of their toxicity in captivity.
