I just saw the first episode, and while I know in advance that there is an actual series ahead... that first episode was just not the way to do things. I understand the INTENT of having thier movie be 95% of the first episode, but it comes off as confusing, and will draw away some potential viewers, as the acting was noticalby (perhaps on purpose by the animators) crappy and full of cliches.

Only the ED gave an indication of better things to come.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

No, I knew the episode was a pastishe of cliches and typical
stuff that happens in anime shows, such as unexplained plot holes and
story progressions from magical girl batteling evil forces to harem anime.

My small complaint was that some viewers might not know that the first episode was not a movie and would avoid watching the rest of it as a result. I knew the whole anime was not about this movie, so I got through it fine.

I guess I have a knack for wording shit wrong, haha.

Heh, I just saw the first 10 episodes (Which I assume are all that are out right now >_> ), and I love the series now.

Whatever I had said before I mostly retract. I still maintain that having the home movie as the first episode would detract from potential viewers though. Otherwise the show is awesome. I do kinda like how the show is out of order chronolocially, but in order according to Haruhi (I guess?).

Why? If the fans can pull off that dance from the special ending song video it can actully look pretty cool. It doesn't look easy to me from the video I saw off youtube.
Well, there have been several videos done of such a thing, the success of which you'll have to be the judge of The third clip is a compilation of various attempts.

Still waiting on that English Hare Hare Yukai though.

Well actually what I meant was I want to see how Bandai handles the English version of the OP/EDs.
Meaning the official (not fandub) version of the song as sung in english by the cast/singers hired for that part.

Although I wouldn't mind seeing what the fans come up with in the contest entries, I had already heard
a fandub of Hare Hare Yuaki through Youbube thus which is why I was all

This show should be seen as a full package, not just watch the first 2 and go "is this it?"
Especially considering the first Broadcast Episode.

Also, For those who might care, here's a .mkv of the Full Dance Version of the ED: Download

I bet Kyon's (tall) sister would still look cute in a bag. =)
It would have to be a big bag, like one of those Ginormous Duffel Bags that
soccer teams take on the buses, or in Kyon's Case, onto the Boats.

Why doesn't Tsuruya-San have Long Green Hair?

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Since I just happened to discover this forum again recently, any new news on the second season, or those Shorts Kairi Li mentioned up above?

EDIT: Just watched their subs, the translation is still excellant. The great thing about Strato is that not only is he good at the translation itself, but he also has better English comphrension then most other fansubs, and a moreextensive vocabulary. I find his work much better than the official Bandai DVD subs.

Seriously, which sounds better, time travellers, or "future men" from Bandai? There are times for literal translations, but this isn't one of them.
So he's the Ted Woolsey of fansubs then?

Also, I liked a.f.k's work, not sure why they has stopped, but I suppose there's one reason or another, glad to see them back in business; and sorry for asking, but can someone link me a spot for reliable torrents of the new season?
I'd prefer HDTV feeds but if its in 4:3 then no big deal.

The temporal loops are over? Well maybe now I can start watching the second season.

Okay, so to minimize the pointless excursion into the endless loops, which episodes can I skip? (For example: should I watch episodes 1-3 and then skip to 8?)

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'll go with that then, thanks.

--Edit--
a.f.k. took down the first two episodes, does someone have an different download location?

or alternatively, who's a good sub group besides them? I don't follow current seasons enough to keep track of sub group quality much.

Ah sweet, thanks a lot =)

--Edit--

Well, just watched episode 9 (And 1-3), glad to see its finally over. I wonder what's gonna happen next... I know there's some sort of "Disappearance" arc, but I havent read the light novels and I'd rather not be spoiled too much ahead of time.

Like she got the K-ON face ;p.

Hmm, it looks like episode 10 was a set-up for how they made the movie (aka the very first episode), pretty interesting to see some of the work that went into making it (or at least, I expect to see that sort of thing in eleven)
