I honestly spend too much sometimes, but I'm rationalizing it by telling myself that once I get all of these purchases out of the way, I can then limit myself properly on how much I spend per month on various things.
But yeah, I tend to either be really frugal or spend recklessly at points. Goes with my changing moods I suppose =\ --edit-- Didn't fully read the question. I've gotten stuff for my mom & grandmother before, sometimes on a regular basis when they will sick or whatever, but thankfully the only member of my family who seems incapable of spending anywhere nearly sanely is my dad who's... elsewhere, so I've never really encountered a situation where I've had to pour everything into fixing some problem they've gotten into. Jam it back in, in the dark.
