SM demo's pretty awesome. Played it on Steam and it looks and plays beautifully.
And the 360 version isn't far behind.

Instead of healing items, you get to execute your opponent in a gruesome faction which in turn restores your health.
Note: this does not carry over into adversarial MP; instead health regenerates, albeit slowly. I do wonder how hard it would have been to carry over, though: it would be muck akin to trying to execute a Nob/CSM in SP with the 'struggle' being in fact a button-mashing contest between the two players (meaning the would-be victim does have a chance to pull off a painful counter).

Oh hey so I played the Space Marine demo and the game is pretty awesome, I won't be cancelling my pre-order...
Glad to hear that, now here's another thing to like about the game: co-op is in. Or will be in about a month, in any case.

So, if you need a wingman for the purging of greenskins (or bug control in New Detroit), do drop me a line.

How ya doing, buddy?

I've still not finished vanilla campaign on Inferno yet, 2-1 is kicking my level 7 Tactical guy's arse. It's the damn bomb spiders that do it, although the slow-down works in your favour as you can get ticks off really easily.
Some tips:
  • see that tank they give you at the start of the level? Almost the first thing you want to do is back it off the bridge and move it a couple blocks east before downing the two carriers. One of them crashes pretty much on that spot;
  • After destroying the lander and cleaning up the associated spawn, you'll be asked to move to a point across the river. This is really what we saved the tank for - first, to destroy all buildings on a north-south line between it and the river, affording a clear field of fire; and second, to make reasonably quick work of the ants and spiders;
  • aside from your turret (AC recommended), you want to bring the latest Stickerburr model (this is the blooper that fires sticky/timed cluster grenades)... you want to use it to lay mini-minefields between you and the ticks. Oh, and it never hurts to give the boomer some care packages, either.
If this is still being a bother, let me know - as noted, another gun can't hurt.

How ya doing, buddy?

One thing to watch for over in Space Marine multiplayer: charged plasma shots seem to act like Halo plasma grenades. Of course, unlike the aliens making up the Covenant in that game, Orks don't let a thing like getting stuck with a soon-to-explode blob of energy stop them from wanting to hew your face off.

And I'm still convinced they dropped the ball on the subject of avatar goodies. Seriously, no Adeptus Astartes armor? No chainsword? Only representing one of the four Dark Gods in terms of Chaos apparel?

Since we're in the neighborhood, I'm not sure why many reviewers seem to dislike Too Human so much. I still haul this out every now and again; plasma-spec commando with human alignment works very well...

Welp, Namco just saved the entire planet 60 dollars...

This concerns me greatly; awesome soundtrack, interesting story, et cetera can't save a game from horrible gamplay. Sadly, things like this are an almost-inevitable result of the (often marketing-driven) quest for 'accessibility to a wider audience' - which usually doesn't end well for the game in question.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

SILBER squadron is officially denouncing Assault Horizon...
Having tried the demo... I'm gonna throw my hat in there with you chaps. Made sure the local Gamestop knew to shift the preorder to something more amusing (Saints Row: The Third).

And those of us waiting for the Exterminatus DLC pack will have to wait a bit longer; it's been delayed to the 25th (reference).

I was speaking idiomatically.

-imagery redacted-

Fuck everything else coming out.
Whoa. I knew folks had been joking about this for a while, but it is surprising that Capcom actually went and did it. And yes, they even put in special dialogue if he starts the bout off against She-Hulk.

An even bigger surprise would be if they then go and add Franziska...

No confirmed appearance by Franziska, but she does get a nod in one of Phoenix' alternates...

More info and other alternates can be found here.

Exterminatus preview video hosted by THQSledgehammer. Because Last Stand in DoW2 was so well-received, Relic and THQ believed they would be remiss were something similar to not find its way into Space Marine.

And it's awesome fun!
Seconded. The Zeal perks really come into their own when you have no shortage of tangos to leech off of...
