Quite a few good calls here; I think I'll toss in a couple more:
- Alien^3 (SNES) - not 100% faithful to the movie, of course, but still a good game. Interestingly, few of the missions in the game have 'kill X' as a primary goal - for most of the game you'll be rescuing people or repairing things... but fear not, there're plenty of xenomorphs you'll have to kill in order to do these things in peace.
- Scarface: The World is Yours - the game which asks 'what if Tony Montana survived Sosa's kill team?' In addition to capturing the spirit of the movie it is based on very well, it brings to the sandbox several welcome additions - big example: Everything or Nothing-style targeting which works when you're firing from a vehicle as well as on foot.
And I can't be the only person who thinks we're long overdue for a new X-Wing/TIE Fighter game. Bonus points for using the Freespace 2 engine...
Jam it back in, in the dark.
