Had this pre-ordered since it was announced. Probably the only game I've ever pre-ordered that has impressed this goth chick at Gamestop.
It looks like solid B-movie fun. Also one of the bonus attires is Ash's clothes (from Army of Darkness). This game will have a nice home in my console library. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
So I picked the game up. It's been a pretty fun game so far. It's very arcade-like, meaning that this would be something you would have seen in the arcades if they were still around. It's pretty much your typical hack-n-slash game with zombies, chainsaws, cheerleaders and... sparkles. End of each level you're given a report card on how well you did. Number of Sparkle Hunter (special meter) kills, coins collected, time, deaths, etc..
I've only finished the first level but the first boss fight was pretty brutal, which means the rest could be more involved and fun as well. All the reviews are saying that the campaign is kinda short, like 6-8 hours. The game is worth owning, but I think it should have been released as a budget title honestly at $29.99 or $39.99. Especially if they're hoping that replay factor to be a selling point. Ah well, I'm having fun with it. Been a while since there's been a mindlessly fun game to catch my attention. How ya doing, buddy? |
