Warcraft Panel part 1 (still being updated on mmo-c)
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Spoilers obviously, but this is the video that plays when Arthas is defeated. Just incase you wanted to see (or like me and probably won't down Arthas anytime soon)
Video taken down by blizz, however you can access viewing it in the cinematic folder where you installed wow at (if you're still playing currently) if not, it'll probably be viewable on youtube with blizztard going ape after Arthas goes down on live servers, which will probably be soon. FELIPE NO |
Although that 5% buff does help alot since we were being face-rolled by Saurfang. also 3.3.3 will start bringing elements leading up to the Cataclysm of 4.0 with the Gnomes on a quest to take back Gnomereagan and the trolls taking back Echo Isles. Interesting to note though, that during a tweet Q&A someone asked about heroic versions of other dungeons and Blizz said that they want to work on making heroic versions of all the old world normal dungeons, not just Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep. Heroic Maraudon and Scholomance ftw! What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
For the few people who actually still play (or those who keep up after quitting) Cataclysm Class changes are beginning to unfold (with the rumor of Beta starting real soon and the gaming media sites already getting beta access)
Condensed this a little bit, just listing main abilities with the link to the blue's thread on each class so people can read up further. New Death Knight Abilities Outbreak (level 81): Outbreak infects the target with both Frost Fever and Blood Plague at no rune cost. This ability allows death knights to apply diseases quickly when they are switching targets or when their diseases have been dispelled. Necrotic Strike (level 83): Necrotic Strike is a new attack that deals weapon damage and applies a debuff that absorbs an amount of healing based on the damage done. For context, imagine that the death knight can choose between doing 8,000 damage outright with a certain ability, or dealing 6,000 damage and absorbing 4,000 points in incoming heals with Necrotic Strike -- the burst is smaller, but a larger overall amount of healing would be required to bring the target back to full health. This ability is meant to bring back some of the old flavor from when death knights could dispel heal-over-time (HoT) effects. It also gives the class a bit more PvP utility without simply replicating a Mortal Strike-style effect. Dark Simulacrum (level 85): The death knight strikes a target, applying a debuff that allows the death knight to copy the opponent's next spell cast and unleash it. Unlike Spell Reflection, Dark Simulacrum does not cancel the incoming spell. In general, if you can't reflect an ability, you won't be able to copy it either. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...62356308&sid=1 New Druid Abilities Thrash (Level 81): Thrash deals damage and causes all targets within 10 yards to bleed every 2 seconds for 6 seconds. The intent here is to give bears another button to hit while tanking. Talents will affect the bleed, such as causing Swipe to deal more damage to bleeding targets. 5-second cooldown. 25 Rage. Stampeding Roar (Level 83): The druid roars, increasing the movement of all allies within 10 yards by 40% for 8 seconds. Stampeding Roar can be used in cat or bear form, but bears might have a talent to drop the cooldown. The goal of this ability is to give both bears and cats a little more situational group utility. 3-minute cooldown. No cost. Wild Mushroom (Level 85): Grows a magical mushroom at the target location. After 4 seconds the mushroom becomes invisible. Enemies who cross the mushroom detonate it, causing it to deal area-of-effect damage, though its damage component will remain very effective against single targets. The druid can also choose to detonate the mushroom ahead of time. This is primarily a tool for the Balance druid, and there will be talents that play off of it. No cooldown. 40-yard range. Instant cast. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...62387043&sid=1 New Hunter Abilities Cobra Shot (level 81): A new shot that deals Nature damage instead of Physical damage. This ability will share a cooldown with Steady Shot. This will give hunters an alternative to Steady Shot on heavily-armored targets, and we will have talent incentives in the Beast Mastery tree to make this a signature shot. Trap Launcher (level 83): When used, the next trap can be shot to a location within 40 yards. This provides the current Freezing Arrow treatment to all traps and, as a result, we will be removing the current ability Freezing Arrow. 1-minute cooldown. No global cooldown. Camouflage (level 85): The hunter enters an obscured state that prevents him or her from taking ranged damage. The character would still be subject to melee or area-of-effect attacks, and dealing or taking damage will break the Camouflage effect. The hunter can move and set traps when under Camouflage, and will receive a damage bonus when attacking while under Camouflage (which will then break the effect). http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...61186675&sid=1 New Mage Spells Flame Orb (available at level 81): Inspired by Prince Taldaram’s abilities in Ahn'kahet and Icecrown Citadel, this spell allows the mage to cast a flaming orb that travels in front in a straight line, sending beams that cause fire damage to passing targets. Once it’s cast, the mage is free to begin casting other spells as the Flame Orb travels. While the spell will be useful to any spec, Fire mages will have talents that improve it, possibly causing the Flame Orb to explode when it reaches its destination. Time Warp (level 83): Grants a passive Haste effect much like Bloodlust or Heroism to party or raid members. It also temporarily increases the mage's own movement speed. Time Warp will be exclusive with Bloodlust and Heroism, meaning you can’t benefit from both if you’ve got the Exhaustion debuff, though the movement-speed increase will still work even when under the effects of Exhaustion. Wall of Fog (level 85): Creates a line of frost in front of the mage, 30 yards from end to end. Enemies who cross the line are snared and take damage. The mana cost will be designed to make Wall of Fog efficient against groups, not individuals. This spell is intended to give mages a way to help control the battlefield, whether the mage is damaging incoming enemies (Blizzard can be channeled on top of Wall of Fog) or protecting a flag in a Battleground. 10-second duration. 30-second cooldown. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...62357286&sid=1 Paladin April 16th New Priest Spells Heal (available at level 16): While priests already have a spell called Heal, the existing version becomes obsolete at higher levels, which is something we intend to change in Cataclysm. Introduced at a low level, the "new" Heal spell will functionally work much like a down-ranked Greater Heal did in the past, adding more granularity to your direct-healing arsenal. If you need to heal someone a moderate amount and efficiency is an issue (making Flash Heal the incorrect spell for the job), then Heal is what you want to use. Heal is intended to be the priest's go-to direct-healing spell unless they need something bigger (Greater Heal) or faster (Flash Heal). We will be following a similar philosophy with all the healing classes. Mind Spike (level 81): Deals Shadowfrost damage and puts a debuff on the target that improves subsequent Mind Spike damage. The intent of Mind Spike is to fill a niche missing in Shadow DPS, though it may be occasionally useful for healers as well. Mind Spike provides a quick nuke to use in situations where the priest doesn't have time to set up the normal rotation, such as when adds are dying too fast or you have to swap targets a lot. Spamming Mind Spike will do about as much damage as casting Mind Flay on a target afflicted with Shadow Word: Pain. The idea behind the debuff is that when you cast Mind Spike, we expect you to cast a lot of them; we don't intend you to fit it into an already full Shadow rotation. It also provides Shadow with a spell to cast when locked out of the Shadow school. (School lockouts will no longer affect both schools for multi-school spells.) 1.5-second cast. 30-yard range. No cooldown. Inner Will (level 83): Increases movement speed by 12% and reduces the mana cost of instant-cast spells by 10%. This buff will be exclusive with Inner Fire, meaning you can't have both up at once. Inner Fire provides a spell power and Armor buff; Inner Will should be useful on a more situational basis. Leap of Faith (level 85): Pull a party or raid member to your location. Leap of Faith (or "Life Grip") is intended to give priests a tool to help rescue fellow players who have pulled aggro, are being focused on in PvP, or just can't seem to get out of the fire in time. Instant. 30-yard range. 45-second cooldown. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...38432151&sid=1 New Rogue Abilities Redirect (available at level 81): Rogues will be getting a new ability to help them deal with changing targets. Redirect will transfer any active combo points to the rogue's current target, helping to ensure combo points aren't wasted when swapping targets or when targets die. In addition, self-buff abilities like Slice and Dice will no longer require a target, so rogues can spend extra combo points on those types of abilities (more on this below). Redirect will have a 1-minute cooldown and no other costs. Combat Readiness (level 83): Combat Readiness is a new ability that we intend rogues to trigger defensively. While this ability is active, whenever the rogue is struck by a melee or ranged attack, he or she will gain a stacking buff called Combat Insight that results in a 10% reduction in damage taken. Combat Insight will stack up to 5 times and the timer will be refreshed whenever a new stack is applied. Our goal is to make rogues better equipped to go toe-to-toe with other melee classes when Evasion or stuns are not in play. This ability lasts 6 seconds and has a 2-minute cooldown. Smoke Bomb (level 85): The rogue drops a Smoke Bomb, creating a cloud that interferes with enemy targeting. Enemies who are outside the cloud will find themselves unable to target units inside the cloud with single-target abilities. Enemies can move inside the cloud to attack, or they can use area-of-effect (AoE) abilities at any time to attack opponents in a cloud. In PvP, this will open up new dimensions of tactical positional gameplay, as the ability offers a variety of offensive and defensive uses. In PvE, Smoke Cloud can serve to shield your group from hostile ranged attacks, while also drawing enemies closer without the need to rely on conventional line-of-sight obstructions. Smoke Cloud lasts 10 seconds and has a 3-minute cooldown. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...62386514&sid=1 New Shaman Spells Primal Strike (available at level 3): Primal Strike is a new weapon-based attack that every shaman will learn very early in the game. Our goal with this ability is to make leveling as Enhancement rather than as Elemental more viable, since many key Enhancement talents become available at fairly high levels. Healing Wave (level 4): While the shaman already has an ability called Healing Wave, we're adding another spell to the class's direct-healing arsenal and giving it a familiar name. The current Healing Wave will be renamed Greater Healing Wave, and the intent is for the 'new" Healing Wave to be the shaman's go-to heal. Lesser Healing Wave and Greater Healing Wave will be used on a more situational basis. Unleash Weapon (level 81): Unleashes the power of your weapon enchants for additional effects (see below). A dual-wielding Enhancement shaman will activate the effects of both of their weapon enchants. Instant cast. 30-yard range. 15-second cooldown. Undispellable. Here are a few examples of effects we're considering for this ability: * Windfury Weapon – Hurls a spectral version of your weapon at a target, dealing 50% weapon damage and increasing the shaman's Haste for the next five swings. * Flametongue Weapon – Deals instant Fire damage and buffs the shaman's next Fire attack by 20%. * Earthliving Weapon – Heals the target slightly and buffs the shaman's next healing spell by 20%. Healing Rain (level 83): An area-effect heal-over-time (HoT) spell that calls down rain in a selected area, healing all players within it. There is no limit to the number of players who can potentially be affected; however, there are diminishing returns when healing a large number of targets, much like the diminishing returns associated with AoE damage spells. This should give Restoration shaman another healing tool that improves their group-healing and heal-over-time capabilities. 2-second cast time. 30-yard range. 10-second duration. 10-second cooldown. Spiritwalker's Grace (level 85): When this self-targeted buff is active, your spells are no longer interrupted by movement and possibly even by your own attacks. This will give shaman of all three specs another way to heal or do damage when it’s necessary to move in both PvE and PvP. Instant cast. 10-second duration. 2-minute cooldown http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...38611737&sid=1 New Warlock Spells Fel Flame (level 81): Quick-hitting spell dealing Shadowfire damage. This is similar to the mage ability Frostfire Bolt, in that the lower of the two resistances (in this case shadow and fire) on your target will be used for calculating its damage. Additionally, Fel Flame refreshes the duration of Immolate and Unstable Affliction. Our goal for Fel Flame is to provide a spell that's good for mobility and for use by Destruction and Demonology specs. Also, did we mention it uses green fire? Yep. Instant cast. Dark Intent (level 83): Increases the target's chance for a critical effect with periodic damage or healing spells by 3%. When the target lands a crit, you get a buff to your damage for 10 seconds. This effect stacks up to three times. Demon Soul (level 85): Fuses the warlock's soul with his or her demon. This provides warlocks with a self-burst cooldown to use. The specific effects granted by Demon Soul depend on the demon chosen. Demon Soul lasts for a certain number of charges or until it expires (around 20 seconds), depending on the demon used. 2-minute cooldown http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...38461679&sid=1 New Warrior Abilities Inner Rage (Level 81): Whenever the character reaches a full 100 Rage, he or she will gain a buff that causes attacks to consume 50% more Rage and do 15% more damage for a short amount of time. This is a passive ability so it won't need to be activated by the player. The goal for this ability is to provide a benefit for hitting max Rage instead of it feeling like a penalty. However, we also don't want warriors to feel like they're supposed to pool Rage and do nothing until they hit 100, so we'll be closely monitoring how this plays out during the beta testing, and making adjustments as needed. Gushing Wound (Level 83): This ability will apply a bleed effect to the target. If the target moves, the bleed gains an extra stack and refreshes its duration, up to a maximum of three stacks. The ability is currently planned to have no cooldown, cost 10 Rage, and have a 9-second duration. Gushing Wound is designed to be weaker than Rend with one stack, but better with three stacks, which will be reached when fighting a moving target. Heroic Leap (Level 85): This ability makes the character leap at their target and apply the Thunder Clap ability to all enemies in the area when they land. Heroic Leap will be usable in Battle Stance and shares a cooldown with Charge, but the Juggernaut and Warbringer talents will allow Heroic Leap to be used in any stance and possibly while in combat. The cooldown for this ability might be longer than the Charge ability, but it will also apply a stun effect so you can make sure the target will still be there when you land. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...38612592&sid=1 Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I wouldn't say they "broke" NDA as I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have posted it if Blizzard didn't give the thumbs up.
![]() Also, since that place is a giant clusterfuck: MMO-Champion Cataclysm Crawler Index of screens and all that. Org looks amazing! Spoiler:
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
It's still up for me.
I might have to take back my "breaking NDA" comment. Apparently the Alpha client got leaked out, which caused the shit to hit the fan. No sense in keeping some of these things under the hat when a good portion of the internets can build sandboxes and sift through it ![]() Also: Spoiler:
Reminds me of the car from the Filmation's Ghostbusters cartoon. lol How ya doing, buddy? |
Professions changes and updates for Cataclyms (also Beta starting really soon according to a Blue)
While the Cataclysm updates to many of the professions are still deep in development, we wanted to share some of the work that's been going on, as well as a high-level look at any lessons learned or changes to their underlying philosophies during the design process. Please be aware that not all professions have the same extent of information available right now, but each is receiving the same love and attention as the next. Take heed of these teasers as you look forward to your new rank of Illustrious Grand Master! Please enjoy! General * Perks will continue to exist across all professions, and will upgraded appropriately. Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, and Tailoring * Many of the green (and possibly some blue) items made during the process of leveling these professions will contain random stats. In most examples, two stats on these items will be set, and two will be random. The idea with these items is to mix up the skill leveling items so you're not just, for example, creating 10 pairs of boots that are all exactly the same. * Superior-quality items that require more materials than other recipes in the same skill range provide multiple skill-ups. For example, if a recipe takes three times the reagents, it will give you three skill-ups. * We didn't feel like we were getting much flexibility from specializations, so they have been removed for all three of these professions. The intent was to help people diversify their profession to feel different from that of other players, but through other professions we've found systems that work better to this end, such as simply making recipes available that you can earn over time. * To follow up the previous change, all items that required a specialization are now useable by anyone. * Tailoring the high-end Cataclysm items will center around a single cloth type that can be crafted through five different recipes -- each with their own material components and a long cooldown. * All three professions will create their starter sets of PVP gear, which will be upgraded with new recipes every season. In general, these are meant to keep pace as an entry-level PvP set below whatever the current Hero Point set is. Alchemy * New elixirs will be about 75% as strong as flasks. So you can get more total stat points with two elixirs, but flasks will still be the best at giving you a single offensive or defensive stat. * New unique material used by nearly all high-level recipes will be created by alchemists on a one-day cooldown. * New Mysterious Potion created with common materials restores health and mana in a massively random range, as well as sometimes granting the benefit of another potion. The health and mana range is from 1-20,000 and is able to crit. The minimum amount restored, however, is scaled upwards by the Alchemy skill, making it a great choice for alchemists to keep for themselves. * All potions and elixirs now use the same basic vial type. Flasks still use a fancy vial. * New Alchemist Stone. Enchanting In general, material component costs for most recipes are more moderate in how much they require, while the highest-end recipes will still require large quantities. The goal of this change is to make the leveling recipes more consistent and not create unintended roadblocks in getting to the higher skill levels. An enchanter vanity pet is being added. New Cataclysm weapon enchantment preview: * Avalanche -- Chance to deal Nature damage on melee hit/spell hit. * Elemental Slayer -- As expected, this enchantment helps players deal devastating damage to elemental creatures. * Hurricane -- A stacking haste proc. * Heartsong -- Mana regeneration through increased Spirit when chain-casting spells. * Many more maximum-level enchantments are still in progress. Engineering * Engineering is still being designed, but expect new unpredictable gadgets to use on yourself or enemies. Toys, explosives, and even a new vanity pet or two. Oh, and powerful mechanical bows and crossbows in addition to guns. * In general, we want Engineering to remain a tradeskill mainly focused on creating fun or useful gadgets for the engineer, but we are exploring options for items that can be sold to other players for profit. Inscription * With the large number of class changes coming with Cataclysm, many existing glyphs will see new functionality. * Minor glyphs are woefully uneven from one class to the next right now, so they're a focus for us to clean them up and try to ensure that everyone has minor glyphs they're excited about. * New Darkmoon Cards will be added, with hopes they'll all be as awesome as the Greatness card. * We'll be adding more major glyphs as well, but in the hopes of making them as balanced as possible, we'll likely wait until after the expansion ships to add any for the new abilities in Cataclysm. * New and more desirable off-hand and relic recipes will be added. Jewelcrafting * Some gem colors have changed! Hit is now blue. Mastery and Dodge are yellow. Intellect is now red. These simple changes have created a much more diverse matrix of gem cuts. * New Jewelcrafting dailies will be introduced. * Many cuts are being added to support the new Mastery stat. * Some new Cataclysm jewelry recipes have completely random properties, and can sometimes create superior and epic versions. * Jewelcrafters will have some fun new (and potentially lucrative) vanity items, including fist weapons, rhinestone sunglasses, monocles, and stardust (sprinkle on players for entertainment). Herbalism, Skinning, and Mining * All Cataclysm herbs have the chance of containing Volatile Life. * There won't be a new Lotus equivalent in Cataclysm. Alchemists will use the more reliably-found Volatile Life to create the new high level flasks. Herb Example: * "Heartblossom -- Named for its deep red color, this delicate flower grows close to the ground, and always in pairs. If one blossom is taken, the other flower begins to wilt immediately and dies soon after. It is considered very unlucky to disturb a Heartblossom without blessing it first." * Savage Leather, the basic Cataclysm leather, can be gathered from most creatures found in the expansion areas and can be converted to Heavy Savage Leather at a 6:1 rate. * Pristine Hide, the rare Cataclysm hide, can be found when skinning creatures in the expansion areas, or be converted from Heavy Savage Leather. * Obsidian is the new common mineral found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems, Volatile Fire, and Volatile Shadow. * Elementium is the new uncommon mineral found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems, Volatile Fire, Volatile Water, or Volatile Earth. * Pyrite is the new rare mineral found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems and Volatile Fire. * Previous Elementium Ore and Bar used for classic quests will be renamed to Elementium Ingot and Hardened Elementium Bar. * We like the gathering perks as they are; not a game-changing bonus but something themed and fun. But as all tradeskills are in the design stages these are still being discussed to a degree. Cooking * Cooking is still in the early stages, but we plan on continuing with daily quests, feasts, and some fun new recipes. * We liked the cooking dailies that had players picking up items that spawned in the world near the quest giver, so most if not all new cooking dailies will work similarly. First Aid * Bandages will have a short cast time and put a heal over time effect on the target for 8 seconds. This effect is broken by damage. * Three new bandages! That's right: THREE! Bandage preview: * "Dense Embersilk Bandage" Heals for 34,800 over 8 seconds. Requires 3 Embersilk to create. Fishing * Lots of new fish and other fun items to catch! Fish are still used to make premium food. * New fishing dailies. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
But you can blame a huge chunk of these changes on Activision, since it's about the time when they swallowed up Blizzard, all these "casual" changes are being made. I was speaking idiomatically. |

There hasn't been too much of the new music I haven't enjoyed yet, maybe a track here or there. For the most part though, the composers have really outdone themselves and I really like the fact each zone is getting unique music. Also, all major NPCs are getting an overhaul in graphics: Spoiler tag for picture length Spoiler:
as well as Thrall: Spoiler:
That's just who's been touched up so far. Probably the rest are coming soon. FELIPE NO |
To be quite honest, I'm not sure how much longer I'll play. My drive was killed back in April when the guild I was in broke apart due to faggotry. Just really meandered here and there, even cancelling my subscription for about a month before renewing when Beta went live. (not on beta, but wanted a chance to be).
I'll play around with Cataclysm, but if I don't find an awesome guild environment I had before, I'm probably done for good and just look up private server info to make a local wow server for the house and my friends. Been finding more music too, it's pretty fucking epic. Gnomeregan's theme after the Gnomes take it back, sounds a bit more festive and happy! What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
4.0.1 being pre patched in past couple of weeks. first part was 1.5 gig, this next "stage" is totaling out about 4 gigs. on PTR it was 15 gig. bleh. Looks like the release date may be early November for Cata.
Been reading the beta forums (no invite yet again, oh wells) and the dungeons are apparently challenging and no longer "face roll easy" that they ended up being in LK. Which is always a plus in my eyes. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
|
Some Darkmoon Faire promotion was going on. The completion unlockable was released which was a pretty damn cool in-game cinematic (kinda like Wrath Gate)
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |

Bumping this with a little fun thing Blizzard is about to implement:
Cross-Realm Dungeon Feature Coming Soon - Forums - World of Warcraft Cross-Server Real ID Dungeon grouping. You can invite your real ID friends to run dungeons with them. Oh... and it will be a premium service. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Well... apparently there's a big to do going on lately.
MMO-Champion - Mists of Pandaria It was found that there was a trademark filed by Blizzard for the name "Mists of Pandaria". Speculation running wild like Hulkamania about it being the next expansion. It fits as the trademarks were filed a couple months before Blizzcon for both Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm announcements in 2007 and 2009, respectively. So while this is pure rumor (we have to wait for Blizzcon to find out what's going on) what do you think about the possibility of them adding a Monk class or perhaps make a Brewmaster class with the possibility of playing as Padaren? Of course they'd have to be neutral with you choosing which side you want to go to after their initial starter quests. Well... not have to, but it would be nice so there isn't any bitching about what side should get it. Start the rumor mill discussion. How ya doing, buddy? |
Well to be fair, it's possible that this is the South Seas part of the expansion and Pandaria could be what that entire area is called... or something. But I dunno, like I said, all will be revealed in October. Also, 4.3 will be out this year. Dunno if that's the Deathwing patch or not though.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
For the handful of people who still play WoW, 4.3 is upon us. The last major content patch before the patch with the event leading up to the next expansion (to be revealed at Blizzcon next month, more than likely). It just hit the PTR (raids and dungeons and the new Looking for Raid feature not available yet) so here are the notes so far:
The time for testing out many of the upcoming patch 4.3 features is soon upon us. In this article you’ll find frequent updates to the official patch 4.3 notes as development continues. You can find a list of the major features we’ve discussed thus far on our official forums. If you’ll be testing this major content patch, be sure to visit the PTR Discussion forum often to share your thoughts with the community. Table of Contents Click a link to be taken directly to the corresponding section of the patch notes. General Achievements Classes: General Death Knights, Druids, Hunters, Mages, Paladins, Priests, Rogues, Shaman, Warlocks, Warriors Dungeons & Raids Races User Interface General Bug Fixes (fixes pertaining specifically to the sections listed above are noted within those sections) General Transmogrification This new feature allows players to customize their gear like never before. You'll find Transmogrification, Void Storage, and Reforging vendors in Cathedral Square, Stormwind and The Drag, Orgrimmar. The costs associated with this service are not yet final. Void Storage In addition to the bank, players will now have access to a new "deep storage" system, allowing characters to free bag space by setting aside coveted gear. You'll find Transmogrification, Void Storage, and Reforging vendors in Cathedral Square, Stormwind and The Drag, Orgrimmar. The costs associated with this service are not yet final. Reforging The former Reforging vendors have been... retired. The ethereals have chosen to take over the business and joined their Transmogrification and Void Storage service providers. You'll find them in Cathedral Square, Stormwind and The Drag, Orgrimmar. Outland & Northrend Quest Flow The amount of experience needed to gain levels 71 through 80 has been reduced by approximately 33%. Many Group quests in Outland and Northrend have been re-tuned to allow players to complete them solo. They are no longer labeled as Group quests. Relevant questgivers have been moved into Outland and Northrend dungeons. The majority of dungeon quests for these zones are now available from within their respective dungeons. North American realms (excluding Brazilian, Latin American, and Oceanic realms) no longer permit letters with accents in character or guild names. Existing character and guild names with special characters will be unaffected by this change. Achievements The achievement Master of Alterac Valley no longer requires the Alterac Valley Blitz achievement. Classes: General All raid and party buffs which grant group members 10% increased attack power have been changed slightly. They continue to provide 10% increased ranged attack power, but now provide 20% increased melee attack power. Abomination's Might: The melee attack power bonus from this raid buff has been increased to 10/20%, up from 5/10%. The ranged attack power bonus remains 5/10%. Blessing of Might: The melee attack power bonus from this raid buff has been increased to 20%, up from 10%. The ranged attack power bonus remains 10%. Runescroll of Might: The melee attack power bonus from this consumable has been increased to 16%, up from 8%. The ranged attack power bonus remains 8%. Trueshot Aura: The melee attack power bonus from this raid buff has been increased to 20%, up from 10%. The ranged attack power bonus remains 10%. Unleashed Rage: The melee attack power bonus from this raid buff has been increased to 10/20%, up from 5/10%. The ranged attack power bonus remains 5/10%. Vengeance for Protection warriors, Protection paladins, Blood death knights, and Feral druids has been redesigned slightly. It no longer ramps up slowly at the beginning of a fight. Instead, the first melee attack taken by the tank generates Vengeance equal to 33% of the damage taken by that attack. In addition, as it updates periodically during the fight, it's always set to at least 33% of the damage taken by the tank in the last 2 seconds. It still climbs from that point at the rate it did previously, still decays when damage is not taken, and still cannot exceed a maximum based on the health and Stamina of the tank. Threat generated by classes in active tanking modes has been increased to 500% damage done, up from 300%. This applies to druids in Bear Form, death knights in Blood Presence, warriors in Defensive Stance, and paladins with Righteous Fury active. Death Knights Death Strike now heals the death knight whether or not the attack misses, or is dodged/parried. As a result of this change, Death Strike no longer refunds its rune cost if it fails to hit the target, as the death knight will still receive the healing effect. Talent Specializations Blood Blade Barrier has been redesigned. It now passively reduces damage taken. Bone Shield now has 6 charges, up from 4. Veteran of the Third War now reduces the cooldown of Outbreak by 30 seconds. Druids Wrath has a new spell effect. Talent Specializations Restoration Wild Growth healing has been reduced by 20%. Glyphs Glyph of Shred has been renamed Glyph of Bloodletting, and now also causes Mangle (Cat) to extend the duration of Rip, in addition to its existing Shred functionality. Glyph of Wild Growth now also increases the cooldown on Wild Growth by 2 seconds. Hunters Coming soon. Mages Coming soon. Paladins Holy Radiance now has a 3.0-second cast time, no cooldown, and requires a player target. That target is imbued with Holy Radiance, which heals them and all group members within 10 yards instantly, and continues to heal them by a smaller amount every 1 second for 3 seconds. Seal of Insight, when Judged, no longer returns 15% base mana to the paladin. Judging Seal of Insight still causes damage, and melee attacks will still restore 4% of base mana. Talent Specializations Holy Clarity of Purpose now also reduces the cast time of Holy Radiance. Illuminated Healing (mastery) now also applies to Holy Radiance. Infusion of Light now applies its cast time reduction from Holy Shock critical effects to Holy Radiance, in addition to its current effects. In addition to providing haste, the effect from Judgements of the Pure now increases mana regeneration from Spirit by 10/20/30% for 60 seconds. Light of Dawn now affects 6 targets (base effect), up from 5. Paragon of Virtue now lowers the cooldown of Divine Protection by 15/30 seconds, up from 10/20 seconds. Speed of Light no longer triggers from Holy Radiance and no longer lowers the Holy Radiance cooldown. Speed of Light now only triggers from Divine Protection. Tower of Radiance, in addition to its current effects, now also causes Holy Radiance to always generate 1 charge of Holy Power at all times. Glyphs Glyph of Light of Dawn now lowers the number of targets to 4, instead of increasing targets to 6, but increases healing by 25%. Priests Divine Hymn now affects 5 targets, up from 3. Talent Specializations Discipline Atonement will now account for the target enemy's combat reach when calculating proper range, enabling it to be used on large creatures such as Ragnaros and Ala'kir. Divine Aegis has a new spell effect. Holy Spirit of Redemption has been rebuilt to address a few functionality issues and make it more responsive. Spirit of Redemption otherwise remains unchanged. State of Mind has been redesigned and is now called Heavenly Voice. Heavenly Voice increases the healing done by Divine Hymn by 50/100%, and reduces the cooldown of Divine Hymn by 2.5/5 minutes. Glyphs Glyph of Circle of Healing now also increases the mana cost of Circle of Healing by 20%. Rogues Coming soon. Shaman Flametongue Weapon no longer increases spell damage. It now increases all non-physical damage done by the wielder by 5%. Lightning Bolt has a new spell effect. Wind Shear now has a 25-second base cooldown, up from 6 seconds. Talent Specializations Elemental Call of Flame no longer causes Fire Nova to extend the duration of Flame Shock. Earthquake damage has been increased by roughly 75%. Elemental Fury now removes the cooldown from Chain Lightning. Reverberation now reduces the cooldown of Wind Shear by 10/20 seconds, up from 0.5/1 second. Enhancement Improved Lava Lash now causes Lava Lash to spread a Flame Shock debuff from the target to up to 4 nearby targets. This excludes crowd-controlled targets and those who already have a Flame Shock debuff from the shaman. Improved Lava Lash no longer increases base Lava Lash damage by 15/30%. This increase has been rolled into the base Lava Lash skill. Mental Quickness has been redesigned. Instead of granting the shaman spell power, Mental Quickness now causes Enhancement shaman spells to behave as though the shaman has spell power equal to 55% of attack power. Enhancement shaman spells no longer benefit from spell power from other sources. Restoration Ancestral Healing now also causes the shaman's heals to increase the target's maximum health by 5/10% of the amount healed, up to a maximum of 10% of the target's maximum health, for 15 seconds. This effect does not stack if multiple Restoration shaman are present, and does not apply to heals from procs. Riptide's periodic healing coefficient has been increased by 50%. The initial direct heal is unchanged. Warlocks Shadow Bolt has a new spell effect. Warriors Coming soon. Dungeons & Raids Dungeon Journal entries have been added for the new dungeons: End Time, Well of Eternity, Hour of Twilight, and Dragon Soul. Bosses in Ruins of Ahn'qiraj now drop a rare-quality Scarab Coffer Key which can be used to open the Scarab Coffers found within. These keys are zone-bound to Ruins of Ahn'qiraj and have a 17-hour expiration. This change also applies to Greater Scarab Coffer Keys used to open Large Scarab Coffers. Races The orc racial Blood Fury now increases spell power rather than only spell damage. User Interface Archaeology areas of interest will now show on the mini-map, in addition to the World Map. Bag Search A search field has been added to allow players to search bag, bank, guild bank, and Void Storage inventories for specific items. Guilds with inactive guild leaders can now usurp the leader under specific conditions. More information on this coming soon. The Reforging interface has been updated and improved. Quest Tracking areas or points of interest will now show on the mini-map, in addition to the World Map. The World Map now displays the expected character levels for each zone. Class changes are subject to change, blah blah blah. Nothing set in stone, snarf. PTR client is like 10gig. Also, the Real ID group feature was fully released and fully free of charge. FELIPE NO |

Mists of Pandaria information explosion!! (Yes yes, I know. Pandas are dumb and this expansion is just a slap in the face and can provide no real entertainment.)
Official site updated: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/mists-of-pandaria/ Anyways, here's what's out so far (Everything taken from MMO Champion): The Mists of Pandaria Press Tour in 5 Minutes If you only have a few minutes to read about the Mists of Pandaria press tour, we have summarized the major points below. If you have time later you should really go back and read the whole thing! The final patch of Mists of Pandaria will be the Siege of Orgrimmar! Both factions lay siege to the city to bring Garrosh down and end his reign of Warchief. The new LFR loot system will allow everyone to roll individually. The highest few rolls will win an item from the boss. Upon winning a roll, if the boss has an item that you can use, you will win it. If not, you will get some amount of gold. It will only be in LFR to begin with, but can be added to other parts of the game later. An 11th character slot has been added. AoE Looting has been added. There will not be an item squish in Mist of Pandaria. No new race models are ready to be added yet. There will be nine level 90 heroics for players as well as three raids with 14 raid bosses and three difficulties. There will be an additional two world bosses. Scenarios will take place at level 90, in an instance, and reward reputation and Valor points. They don't need a healer, tank, and DPS, just DPS is fine. Each will take 10 to 30 minutes to complete and five or more will be available for launch. In Challenge Modes, the vast majority of players will most likely earn a bronze medal even if they are a relatively unskilled player. After a player earns all the medals at the Bronze level, they will be rewarded with an achievement and title. Completing all of the Silver medals will earn a set of spectacular gear for transmogrification, and completing all of the gold will earn a unique epic flying mount. Challenge modes will be available for the six new dungeons at launch. Cloud Serpents are the Pandaren's mount of choice. You can raise your own by doing 20 days of daily quests. The Tillers faction will let you run your own farm! The farmer's market will provide daily quest to improve your farm every day, you will be able to clear plots of land and plant things like cooking ingredients, herbalism nodes, gifts for NPCs to build your reputation... etc. Warlocks got the most class changes in MoP, along with new pets. There will be more mounts and less color swaps for different rewards. They are adding armor to creatures to give them varied appearances, something other than just simple color changes. There are now seven zones, up from five. This was done to add more content to the game and give players a less linear progression path so that leveling for a second or third time isn’t the exact same. There will be one new arena and two new battlegrounds at launch. PvP pet battles are going to be fun and causal, only tracking the number of wins and not the number of losses. When fighting another player, you cannot see the other players name or communicate with them. Currently, every race except Goblin and Worgen can learn the ways of the monk. The Pre Mists of Pandaria Patch will be roughly two weeks before launch and bring simple rewards. It might involve a scenario with Theramore and the Alliance vs Horde theme. Chen Stormstout might also come to the local cities and get players excited about what is coming. Female Pandaren Spoiler:
Monk specs and talents link: Mists of Pandaria Press Tour - Monk Skills and Talents The revamp of SM and Scholo:
They also have in more in-depth detail regarding everything covered on the press tour. Garrosh being the final boss seems real interesting too. Makes me wonder if there's going to be an instanced version of Orgrimmar that we raid to remove him from Warchief. Maybe even have to kill him? All in all, I'm digging some of the new changes. Tons of more information out there. Hopefully beta will start soon, so I can test some of these out. Jam it back in, in the dark. |

Unveiled today at Gamescon. I like it. I know Blizzard can make pretty good cinematics. Of course I know the whole "lol Kung Fu Panda" so yeah. There's nowhere I can't reach. |

Class trainers are only needed to change talents, glyphs, class specialization, or to utilize the dual specialization feature. All characters now take 40% less damage from other players. Currency Conversion Valor points have been converted to Justice points, and Conquest points have been converted to Honor points. Neither of the resultant currencies (Justice and Honor) have an enforced hard-cap at this time. At this time, you will not be able to earn Justice points or Honor points if the conversion put your total above the cap of 4000 per type. Players are no longer able to earn Valor or Conquest points (bosses drop Justice, and arenas are closed). Items formerly purchasable for Valor/Conquest are available for Justice/Honor. Items Spell Penetration has been replaced by PvP Power on existing items. Head enchants removed Enchants that modify the gear in your head slot have been removed from the game. This includes older head enchants of every type. Relics, ranged, and thrown items The slot in which ranged, relics, and thrown items were previously equipped has been removed. All weapons should now be equipped in the weapon slot. Ranged weapons, including wands, have been adjusted to be more powerful. Ranged weapons no longer have a minimum range. Professions The glyph system has been updated. Many class glyphs have been added, altered, or moved to different glyph types. Prime glyphs have been removed. Chef’s Award and Dalaran Cooking Award have been removed. Existing awards have been converted to Epicurean’s Award. Quests The cap for daily quests has been removed. There is no longer a displayed count of daily quests completed. User Interface There is a new user interface for your mounts and pets. Character creation screens have been updated. Buffs have been consolidated in the UI. New roll results frame added. This new feature can be accessed by clicking the word "[Loot]" in chat, or by typing "/loot". The PvE queue frames have been unified. You can now queue for dungeons, raids, and other queue-able content in one handy place. Vendors now offer item filtering. Spellbooks have been updated to reflect changes to core abilities, and now include a brief overview of specializations. The Dungeon Journal has been expanded with information on all pre-Cataclysm encounters. A new help system has been added to many frames. You can toggle this on and off by clicking the "i" button in the upper left corner of the frame. Mac Mac OS X 10.5 is no longer supported. Added full support for Retina displays. Added support for game resolutions that match Mac screen aspect ratios. Switching between Windowed and Fullscreen display modes should be faster. A “Help” menu has been added, so that players can quickly navigate to support pages. A menu item that allows players to copy system information to the Clipboard has been added. A menu item that reveals various game files and folders in Finder has been added. One of the biggest issues of the patch is Blizzard implementing "Cross Realm Zones" Basically it's where they take zones and if there are not enough players in that zone, it enters a cross realm, where people from other realms will be there. One of the main issues people have with this is pretty much farming. You're not going to get ANYTHING done in terms of leveling skills and gathering mats, cause you'll have players from other realms farming where you are too. There's a huge thread on the official WoW forums regarding the pros and cons of CRZ. One of the solutions is for them to just go ahead and fucking merge realms, but for some reason Blizzard refuses to do just that. I guess they'd like to tote around the fact that they have all these servers for people to play on. Sept 18th, the Mists of Pandaria world event starts: Battle of Theramore. It's supposed to be the event that pretty much starts the whole WAR aspect of Warcraft between Horde and Alliance. Spoiler:
The last raid of the expansion, will be Siege of Orgrimmar, where we go in and try to remove Garrosh as Warchief of the Horde. Anywhos. There's your patch notes. Enjoy, rant, bitch, etc. :P This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Since I'm sure there are a couple of us nerds that still play this game, the time has come to raid Orgrimmar and dethrone Garrosh as Warchief!
5.4: The Siege of Orgrimmar. Patch 5.4 adds Virtual Realms, which will essentially merge lower population realms. This will allow you to keep playing on your current realm, but do arenas, raids, and dungeons with people in your realm group, as well as use a merged Auction House and trade with other players in your realm group. (Blizzard is making an official post explaining this) Patch 5.4 also adds Proving Grounds, with four different difficulty levels for trials: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Endless. Endless difficulty matches you up against enemies of constantly increasing difficulty. (Proving grounds are probably the solo dungeons that help train you in skills and learn your class/spec) Patch 5.4 also adds a new scenario: The Celestial Tournament. Its achievement is listed under Pet Battles. A new Darkmoon boss will make an appearance, a giant Dire Wolf. He appears to drop a pet, a mount, and a transmog weapon. A new pet battle tournament is coming to the Timeless Isle. The chance for awarding loot from kills or bonus rolls has been increased for Mogu'shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, Terrace of Endless Spring, and Throne of Thunder on Raid Finder difficulty. The chance for awarding loot from using a bonus roll has been increased for Throne of Thunder on Normal difficulty. Players who obtain a realm-best time in a Challenge Mode dungeon will receive a temporary title specific to each dungeon which will persist for as long as a player retains the top time on the realm. They will also receive a Feat of Strength. All permanent item enhancements provided by Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking, Tailoring, and various vendors and quests are now able to be applied to items of any level. The effects of these enchantments will be scaled down to the level of the player using the item. Raid Boss list: Immerseus – Tears of the Vale The Fallen Protectors Norushen – [PH] Sha of Pride – The Seventh Sha [PH] Galakras – Warlord Zaela's proto-drake [PH] Iron Juggernaut Kor'kron Dark Shaman – Haromm and Kardris trained thousands of shaman to whisper reverently to the elements to requisition their aid. The army of Garrosh, however, does not ask - they take what they desire in the name of the True Horde. Dark Shamanism forces the elements into servitude, twisting them into burned-out ash, corrupted waters, and toxic air. General Nazgrim – Once a grunt in service of the former warchief, Thrall, General Nazgrim rose quickly through the ranks after overwhelming victories in Grizzly Hills and the sunken city of Vashj'ir. Fiercly loyal to the Horde and bound by a rigorous code of honor and duty, Nazgrim will hold the line for his warchief until his dying breath. If it makes it any better, Gamon will play a part in the Nazgrim fight. :P
I dunno, they're fucking with the classes something awful now. Silencing Shot is being made for Marksman only, which is dumb (I've heard about this but can't find any Hunter rage on it). There are some hunter tames that you need to be Beast Master to do, such as a spirit porcupine in Jade Forest that heals itself every so often. Also, Sacred Shield is being made into a castable spell for Prot paladins only, it will be a talented skill for Holy and Retribution but it will auto activate at 30% or lower instead. >:\ I was speaking idiomatically. |
You know, for the like 4 people that still play that are around and all. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
