Exclamation Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED Destiny ~upcoming stuff~

Something found on Gunota Headlines. Thought many of you might be interested. Spoilers for those of you who haven't seen SEED or SEED Destiny.

Quote:
C.E.73 Stargazer & DESTINY SE info UPDATED
People with early release of Newtype magazine are reporting the following:

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E.73 Stargazer
Spoiler:
- Format: 3 episodes each 15 minutes long. Available through net streams and events. It will first appear at Shizuoka Hobby Show in May. The story takes place immediately after Break The World.

Staff:
- Director: Susumu Nishizawa
- Script: Shigeru Morita
- Character Designer: Kenichi Ohnuki
- Mecha Design: Kunio Okawara, Beecraft

2 main characters:
- Sven Cal Bayan: 19 year old male natural. Strike Noir pilot. Phantom Pain 2nd Lt. A relentless and extreme fighting machine with an intense hatred of Coordinators.
- Selene McGriff: 28 year old female coordinator. One of the researcher of "GSX-401FW Stargazer Project"

Main unit:
- GAT-X105E Strike Noir - Based on Strike Gundam. (Gunpla version will come out)

SEED DESTINY Special Edition
Spoiler:
- Format: 4 part series with first one airing this Spring in widescreen format.
- Story is based on Athrun's point of view. The reason behind this according to Fukuda: if this is done in Kira's POV, Shinn becomes the enemy. If this is done in Shinn's POV, Kira becomes the enemy. Meeting between Kira and Shinn will be brand new animation.
So what do you guys think of this? I knew about the upcoming Stargazer, though previous reports had mentioned it being an OVA at first. Knowing it took place in C.E.73 made me wonder though, since it is pretty much the same time as the events of Destiny - many people had anticipated an epilogue taking place several years later.....

And there is still talk about a third series......

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yeah, I felt the same way when they released the OVA recap for SEED.....not much point in seeing the whole thing again. The SE for Destiny might be more interesting if......
Spoiler:
.....it's entirely in Athrun's POV, but then again it might not make much difference at all.

Still, I'm a little interested in how it will turn out.

Here's a spoiler taken off another forum, a picture from a magazine regarding the 3rd and (maybe) final chapter of SEED: SEED3 Photo

Spoiler:
It's obviously a picture of Athrun and Meyrin, with their 2 daughters. Now WTF?! I was sure that Athrun and Cagalli were gonna get back together but if this pic is legit, my hopes have been dashed......

Oh, and you can just make out that Meyrin is pregnant.........baby number 3 on the way. LOL

This probably means that other kiddies are around too: Kira and Lacus'; Shinn and Luna's; Mwu and Murrue's........ LMAO!!

Can't wait!!!

How ya doing, buddy?

I agree that a switch like that doesn't really make sense, but you never know with Fukuda. Besides, since a longer period of time takes place in between, there maybe some explanation forthcoming?

Who knows?

Anyways, more from Gunota Headlines:

Quote:
SEED C.E. 73 Stargazer site pre-opens
The official site now hosts a teaser image and a note saying it'll open on April 10th.

Gunota also mentions that Nami Tamaki will have a brand new song that will be included in the Destiny SE as an ending theme for the first part. The title is reported to be "Result".

Bandai have released special ready-made models of various UC mobilesuits over the years, in their Gundam Fix Figuration line. Of course, alternate universe Gundam shows have also produced some memorable Gundams and I guess Bandai would like to cash in on them too!

The Cosmic Region refers to those mobilesuits from the Cosmic Era universe from SEED and SEED Destiny. They've already released Force Impulse (#7001), Freedom (#7002), Strike Freedom (#7003) and just recently Destiny (#7004). Infinite Justice will be the next one in this line, to be released sometime in June.

Also, they will release a double pack of the G Gundam mobile fighters God Gundam and the Nobel Gundam in April, for 4,179 yen.

Most of the mobilesuits can be seen if you follow the link: Gundam Fix Figuration @ Tamashii.

I didn't like the Freedom or the Strike Freedom because their wings look way too short. The Force Impulse and Destiny look pretty good though. Also, all Gundam Fix Figuration products are made from a pvc material, meaning that some parts may tend to bend while in their packaging. It's not uncommon to find beam rifles or bazookas bent out of shape! Apparently the problems are easy enough to solve with a little water and a hairdryer!! Well, I saw that people could straighten stuff out that way in Hobby Japan.

Tamashii has released pics for their new EMSiA Freedom Gundam

The ms will be released in April, 2006.

Check it out!!

As you can see, a lot more detail than the original MSiA version (they released 2 versions of Freedom I believe, and both sucked). The main differences are the new joints added to the plasma cannons, allowing Freedom to deploy them while in HiMAT mode. More mobility has been added to the shoulder joints and all Freedom's limbs are far more flexible (You can see by the awesome poses in the above link). The beam rifle and anti-beam shield appear more streamlined and in proportion compared to the earlier versions.

All round I'd say this is a great improvement. I was never into the MSiA line, but I do believe they've got me hooked on the EMSiA Freedom and Justice. I can't wait for them to come out!!

EDIT:Tamashii have also released pics of their God Gundam & Nobel Gundam set from their Gundam Fix Figuration series.

Lookie lookie!!

The other mobilesuits were shown somewhere, I've seen them but I can't remember where....... o_O

Anyways, the Buster and Duel look-a-likes were named aptly: Buster Kai and Duel Kai. I'm not sure whether or not they're ZAFT or EA mobilesuits either, though I guess they will be revealed in due time.

jouho, that 1/100 IJ isn't painted so I guess it'll look pretty much like that when you put it together straight from the box. I'm pretty sure it'll look okay once you get a black marker for the lines and all. Maybe it'll be slightly better once it's actually released?

Updated news from Gunota:

Quote:
Stargazer info:
Boasts more than six new mecha, two of which are affiliated with ZAFT, one from DSSD, and two from the Alliance's Phantom Pain (the Strike Noir itself is listed with Orb). The kit description says that the Noir Striker backpack can change into a flight form. The Strike Noir comes with beam swords, listed as its main armament, and a small rocket anchor.
Strike Noir is from ORB? How can that be? Stolen? Anyways, not much detail on its weapons - what about those machine guns(?) on its hips? No shield or beam rifle? Those wings seem to include beam cannons, and I guess the head unit doesn't carry any CIWS.

Yay, some new information!!!

We can now kind'a figure out what DSSD is at least:

EDIT: Gunota has posted a translation for the story as well the bios for the 2 main characters and the mecha:

Quote:
Organizations:
Deep Space Survey and Development Organization (DSSD) - A group founded to survey & develop regions beyond the orbit of Mars. The Earth Alliance, PLANT, and neutral powers cooperated in its establishment though it is neutral with regard to the Alliance & ZAFT and has special jurisdiction. The fundamental principle is "The advancement of frontiers": to transcend all countries, organizations, religions, and races, sending that doctrine from the human species out to the far-reaches of space.

Phantom Pain - A special military force that answers to Logos, Blue Cosmos' supreme governing organization. The unit is a private army organized by Blue Cosmos. Blue Cosmos, thus far not getting the depended on military power from the Earth Alliance, formed the group as a way of directly embodying their personal intentions. Phantom Pain's parent organization is comprised of Alliance personnel & equipment. Notices issued from the Earth Alliance's upper echelon, in situations where goods and personnel are requested by Phantom Pain, are informal but are to be responded to without delay. With that assistance, Phanton Pain can take in provisions and furnishings wherever they go. But only Logos and representatives of Logos possess command authority over them. Even within the Alliance, only a tiny few of its leaders are aware of the particulars regarding Phantom Pain. As a private army, they aren't bound by the armistice treaty entered into by the Alliance and ZAFT. The treaty prohibits both the Alliance and ZAFT from having N-Jammer Cancellers, nuclear weapons, Mirage Colloid, loading ships with Phase Shift armor, and possessing nuclear-powered mobile suits but Phantom Pain disregards that and executes operations using ships that carry such things. And since they are funded behind the scenes by Blue Cosmos, the equipment they get is radical but extravagant.

Mecha:
GSX-401FW Stargazer - Affilated with DSSD.

GAT-X105E Strike Noir - A mobile suit specializing in close-range combat deployed by the Earth Alliance's 81st Independent Mobile Battalion (aka Phantom Pain). It's based on the X105 Strike and piloted by lieutenant junior grade Sven Cal Bayan. Integrated performance improvement measures on the unit were conducted by Actaeon Industries.

Characters:
Selene McGriff - 28-year-old female Coordinator. One of the engineering staff on the DSSD engineering development's GSX-401FW Stargazer Project. "Mankind must set out to space." Those words are Selene's guiding principle. As is the case with many DSSD staff, she was born and raised in space and her parents are also members. Bright but has a strong tendency to be somewhat egotistical. Once she decides what her goal is, she won't be happy until she achieves it and, that being the case, she won't choose a way of meeting her objectives without great effort. Strong-minded and unafraid of being criticized for her methods. Aggressive at times and, as a result, much of her nature is to disregard her partner's ideas though if someone tries that with her, she'll be reluctant and impassionate. Nevertheless, since the DSSD is an organization with a high ratio of eccentrics and freaks among the personnel, Selene hasn't especially changed.

Sven Cal Bayan - 19-year-old male Natural. A lieutenant junior grade in the Earth Alliance's 81st Independent Mobile Battalion (Phantom Pain). Pilot of the mobile suit GAT-X105E Strike Noir. Part of a special combat MS platoon with another 2-3 people. Orphaned due to an incident when he was very young. Afterwards, he became affiliated with Phantom Pain as an elite combat member for Coordinator extermination warfare. What's the reason for his intense hatred of Coordinators...and what is the past of this cruel fighting machine?
Sheesh, after all that it's hard to imagine that they're gonna fit all this and more in just 3 episodes of only 15 minutes running time each. There's enough junk in here for another complete series!!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Also remember that both Fllaga and Klueze were Newtypes and neither were coordinators. I think Newtypes are pretty much few and far in between. Many possess abilities such as prenatural skills and senses (even a sixth sense was suggested by some people). Maybe they are born with this ability, or perhaps it awakens in some individuals. We never knew if Fllaga and Klueze were born Newtypes. In the case of Kira, he showed no such abilities in SEED, yet in Destiny he began to evolve, even being able to control Dragoons to the point of utter invincibility. Nobody could touch him!

Of course we can argue and discuss forever since the whys and wherefores were pretty much ignored in the story. No explanations will ever be forthcoming I guess.

Some news from Gunota:

Quote:
From Hobby Shop Midori. The first run of the HG Strike Noir will come with a DVD catalog that features a C.E. 73 Stargazer introductory promo video and a Hobby Division merchandise video clip.
also in the same entry:

Quote:
The first run of the 1/100 Legend Gundam comes with a new type of stand with connecting parts to support 4 kits (the 1/100 Legend, Infinite Justice, Destiny, and Strike Freedom).
Hopefully they'll be releasing some good quality pics for Strike Noir and 1/100 Legend soon.

Also, the 1/100 Infinite Justice will be out this May, around the 8th or so.

Check out the pics courtesy of The Gundam Base.Side 1 (Korean website):

Strike Noir - 1/144 HG kit

Infinite Justice - 1/100 kit

Note all the weapons revealed for the Strike Noir Gundam. All them crazy spikes and cables..... o_O

Also note the last pic for the Infinite Justice set is unpainted (meaning that's what it looks like when you put it together straight from the box - no paints or markers).

1/100 Infinite Justice should be out now. Not sure on Strike Noir......

Some more news from Gunota regarding CE73 Stargazer:

Quote:
ITmedia +D put up a small article on the upcoming SEED OVA, CE73 Stargazer. The article confirms that Bandai Channel will release ep1 in July with the DVD version coming out as well.
Release schecule:

Ep 1 - 15 minutes long, July
Ep 2 - 15 minutes long, Aug
Ep 3 - 15 minutes long, Sept

Edit: Bandai Namco's press release says the DVD will come in the Winter. The stated goal for Stargazer is to gain new fans by having this be the first Gundam to be initially offered over the Net. The cast so far...

Selene McGriff - Sayaka Ohara
Sven Cal Bayan - Daisuke Ono
Sol Ryuune L'ange - Jun Fukuyama
Well, I am kind'a looking forward to the series (even if it's only 3 episodes long) just to see what they can offer in this side-story. Still curious to know what exactly the Stargazer is. A mobilesuit? A vessel of some sort? Satellite? Weapon?

The official CE.73 Stargazer site has been updated with 2 new mecha!!!

CE.73 Stargazer Official website - mecha

A translation from Gunota Headlines:
Quote:
Mecha:
Blu Duel
"A unit developed by Actaeon Industries based on the GAT-X102 Duel. Its back is equipped with large thrusters and is enhanced with exceptional mobility and armor. Excels in close-quarters combat with weapons concealed inside its shoulder armor, arms, and underside of its shield. Further, in contrast to the Assault Shroud on ZAFT's original Duel, the Blu Duel's reinforced armored entire body has PS armor."

Verde Buster
"A unit developed by Actaeon Industries based on the GAT-X103 Buster. The cannons that were on its hips were moved to the shoulders so the hips were equipped with newly developed beam cannons. With the increase in firepower, reinforced armor, and its bayonettes, it's close-combat ability has been upped considerably."

Characters:
Edmund du Clos (in addition to previously posted info)
"Bachelor. Retired from the army when the war ended in C.E. 71 and was appointed security personnel in the DSSD's Technology Development Center on the outskirts of Fortaleza, South America. At the time he retired, he had been a lieutenant commander. Has a strong sense of responsibility and takes good care of others. Because of that, he is the kind of person who gets unnecessarily involved in things. And so when his sister's son was orphaned, he offered to raise the boy himself. As someone who was once a soldier, he naturally has much resentment towards his ZAFT battlefield rivals."

Mudie Holcroft
Shams Coza
I still don't see how 3, 15-min, episodes are gonna do this show any justice....There's a lot of content in this series.....

CE.73 Stargazer PROMO!!!

Go check out the promo:

Bandai Channel

As was previously mentioned, this side story takes place soon after the "Break the World" incident in SEED Destiny. A few scenes with Sven and just one with Selene. Otherwise it's mostly Strike Noir doing it's thing.

Gunota had mentioned before the new theme song and I guess that was what was playing in the promo. The title is.....
Quote:

Well, whenever there's a new Gundam SEED story it seems to be complimented with another Astray side story. Not sure if this is the case with Stargazer or if it's just a follow up on Destiny Astray (but even Stargazer is almost directly related to Destiny), but we now have a new Astray story in our midst:

Delta Astray

The official website is already open with a few mecha, character and story details on the manga. Lowe's Red Frame is shown so he's definitely back again this time round. I'm not sure how big a part he will play though since I hear he was relegated to the supporting cast for Destiny Astray.

The site: http://www.delta-astray.net/

The new unit is awfully similar to the V-Gundam though.......

Well, well. Gundam SEED: C.E.73 Stargazer Phase I has been subbed and released by Mendoi (the group formerly known as Hiro Fansubs, who did an awesome job on SEED Destiny).

Get it here: Mendoi-Fansubs: Gundam SEED C.E.73 Stargazer episode 1

Also, the official website has updated their mecha section to include a picture and description of the GSX-401FW Stargazer:

CE73 Stargazer - Mechanics page

Courtesy of Gunota Headlines:
Quote:
GSX-401FW Stargazer
"The GSX-401FW Stargazer is a mobile suit developed independently by DSSD. Holding a neutral status with regards to both the Earth Alliance & PLANT, DSSD created the unit as a non-combat mobile suit with the objective of exploring space beyond Mars. It's most notable features are the interplanetary propulsion system known as the Voiture Lumiere and its ability to be used largely unmanned thanks to its high degree of autonomy. The machine itself as well as its operation support system are collectively designated as 'Guider UNmanned Deployment Autonomic Manipulation'. The abbreviation for this is 'GUNDAM'."
Downloading the episode now, hopefully it'll be an entertaining watch.

UPDATED - According to those who attended the festival, the footage shown for the last Special Edition "Cost of Freedom" was an edited version of last part of Final Plus showing Kira in white ZAFT uniform, Athrun in White ORB uniform and Shinn in the red ZAFT uniform as Lacus enters the PLANT Council.

At least one major uniform change there.....

Also, the second part of CE73 Stargazer was released a while ago:

[Mendoi]_Gundam_SEED_CE73_Stargazer_-_STAGE_II

EDIT: Just watched the episode, a little surreal during one of the battles - for some reason it was awfully reminiscent of Evangelion....
Spoiler:
.....Phantom Pain go out and defeat the ZAFT attack at one of their bases. They get another order to wipe out a coordinator refugee camp because it was believed they were really a front for terrorists, Sven gives the order without even blinking an eye.

A brief glimpse into Sven's past was shown also. As a child he wanted to be an astronomer and was fascinated with the history of man's exploration into space. During an space exhibition, there was an explosion and his family were killed. Orphaned, he was signed over and delivered to the EA's Extended project where he was trained to hate and kill all coordinators.

Meanwhile, Selene and her crew have started the Stargazer and have been testing it's systems and the new Voltaire Lumiere propulsion unit.

Back on Earth, Blu Duel is crippled and it's pilot, Mudie, killed while battling a pack of Bacues (fucking reminiscent of those white eva ripping into Asuka's Eva unit....yuck). Sven destroys the whole lot but is unmoved by her death. On board the craft they were protecting, Sven runs into some Extended soldiers walking besides a gurney stretcher. On the stretcher is Stella, probably just after being returned by Shinn and before she sets off in the Destroy Gundam to raze Berlin in Destiny. Later, Sven hears that his group (now only him and Verde Buster's pilot) have been ordered into space to target and destroy the DSSD operation.

Whoa.....

I was speaking idiomatically.

Yeah, that's the IWSP (Integrated Weapons Striker Pack). It doesn't appear in either SEED or SEED Destiny, though you did see it attached to Strike Rouge in one of the earlier Destiny OPs. It's strictly an MSV (Mobile Suit Variations) item though, along with Destiny Impulse, Zaku Splendour and Providence Zaku, along with many others.

It's armnaments include 2 machineguns, 2 cannons, 2 anit-ship swords, and a combined shield/gatling gun with a beam boomerang. It can be attached to either Strike or Strike Rouge.

It's an MG 1/100 kit (includes Strike) and it's due out in October.

The 1/100 scale Saviour is not an MG kit unfortunately, otherwise I'd definitely be getting it. However, the kit designs and drawings in Hobby Japan make it look really sleek and sexy so I haven't completely made up my mind yet. The kit is also released in October so I'll have to watch out for that too....

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Goddamn impulse buys got to me again........this kit was sold out a while back when I was thinking of getting it despite not having the space to display it if I ever built it. It was kind'a hinted that the kit wouldn't be returning to stores, but suddenly there it was and I went and bought it without thinking of the consequences.

Oh well.......

MBF-02 Strike Rouge 1/60 scale PERFECT GRADE

Oh, and more MG news courtesy of Gunota Headlines:

Heh heh, actually the handle's black plastic. I guess it does look like it's a silver color thanks to the flash!!

Shit, seriously Bandai is really milking the fucking money out my ass!! I already have an MG Strike, Strike Rouge and Freedom sitting around my room. I have a 1/60 Strike Freedom (Lightning Edition) and now I have the PG Strike Rouge. Now they're coming out with an MG Strike Freedom and I will be getting it, nevermind that I don't have any space for it!! Man, their marketing really brings in the big bucks!

Well, I guess I should be glad they're making top-quality stuff, which seems to get better and better with each new release. I can't wait for this December.....
