The series seems to be taking some creative liberties, differing a bit from the manga. However, it almost makes things more awesome.

Spoiler:
The Metal Gear Solid references were amazing. It would've been perfect if they included a "!" sound effect. The other three girls introduced are also hilarious, always facing the screen.

Next episode will probably have the epic COMEDY TRIO bit, I can't wait.
Yeah, those references are just absolutely awesome. I would argue though that the high point of episode 4 had to be this reference:

Spoiler:

The Aku Soku Zan served to sweeten the deal and make the scene all the more hilarious. I was in fits after that. Gatotsu! for win ='D

Jam it back in, in the dark.

17 was a decent episode though the humor just wasn't as consistent as some of the ones that came before it. Either that or Doujin Work got all of the laughter out of my system.

If I read ANN correctly, this looks to be a 52 episode series. That brings up the question as to how they're going to keep up the comedy over that period of time. I know the robot hasn't shown up as much compared to the manga so they should be able to work that in, but other than that, what can they fill it up with?

How ya doing, buddy?

I've enjoyed the last few episodes so far. 29 through 31 actually did a good job of holding my interest and the end of episode battles were done surprisingly well. 29 in particular did an awesome job in that department.

Regardless, I'll echo the opinion that episode 32 was a bit of a downer. It was a bit too random for my tastes.

Spoiler:
Throwing Nabeshin in there was like watching Excel Saga all over again. That scene involving Isumi, Sakuya, and the fish was just odd. As in WTF-style odd, but that goes along what this episode was all about anyways. Unforunately, it didn't really cater to my tastes and I'm just hoping that things pick up a bit around episode 33.

Other than that, the show has been enjoyable overall. True, there were some slow, uncomedic moments, but the comedic moments that do show up more than make up for it.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
