Perhaps you are trying to make mexican "dirty rice"?
This dish is best with lard (manteca). Fry the rice in the lard for a bit, then put a couple tomatoes, an onion, maybe half a green pepper, and a jalapeno or two in a food processor and add that wet mix to the rice along with however much chicken broth you need to cook the amount of rice you are making. Cover and cook on lowest heat until rice is done. Mix in chopped cilantro and lime juice. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
