You don't need to use Netgear's software to connect to a wireless network running with a Netgear router.
Windows can do it nicely just look under the control panel goto network connections and look for your wireless adapter there right click it and select properties, Click wireless networks tab Check to box 'allow windows to configure my wireless network settings'. Click OK Right click on the wireless adapter again and this time select 'view avalaible Wireless Networks' (Click refresh network list on your left if it doesn't appear) Select the network and enter your password. But as packrat says its nice to know the model. Also make sure the router itself has a wireless network enabled in its settings. Try phoning Netgear support they walked me through all this in about 10 minutes when I bought my router. Jam it back in, in the dark.
