Its noisy and hot because of the desktop CPU it needs to have a whole row of fans that stick out the back. Check out the review on
notebookcheck.com They highlight this problem as do many other numerous reviews.
If you want to game the Asus c90's 512mb 8600mGT GPU only has DDR2 memory which makes it slower than its 256mb DDR3 counterpart by a huge amount. Nvidia currently have no plans to introduce a DDR3 version of the 512mb 8600mGT GPU. (Many sites mistakingly label the 512mb as having DDR3 which is WRONG!!).
If I were you I'd go for the Asus G1S-AK005C, Dell M1530 (I have one), or the Vaio FZ21s. Those are all good WELL PRICED 15.4" laptops that perform well in gaming with T7500 or better cpu's (the vaio has the 8600GMS but the screen quality is gorgeous + the blu ray drive make it worth it). If anyone else knows of good reasonably priced 15.4" gaming laptops can add to the list.

Just make sure the OS is WinXP Pro instead of Vista.

If your here only to bash vista get lost. I have had no problems what so ever adjusting. Plus Vista is getting SP1 which will sort out alot of performance issues, generally most people have reported windows working faster and with less errors (alot less idle CPU usage plus disk write too). Also its better to get Vista free with your new laptop rather than paying for it later in my view, you can always dual boot XP if you ever require it.
Like our previous meeting in the other thread I suggest you go for the DELL M1530. The only problem is that Dell have sent me 2 computers with dents and scratches so I'm waiting on my 3rd but in terms of a 15.4" gaming laptop it is very good. Problem is you've missed alot of the deals that were around new years. You get the onsite warranty with Dell too which is much better than most other notebook manufacturers, I've heard some horror stories about the shear time it takes Sony to do repairs if they are unwilling to replace your machine. If I do decide to return my Dell
(very unlikely) I may get the Vaio FZ.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
