The article says you need 20 minutes outside in order to be able to produce five times their recommended amount of vitamin D.
If you put the sunscreen on while outside, it will probably take you about four minutes to finish putting it on. During that time, I imagine you'd get enough UV-B rays in order to produce more than enough vitamin D for your day. The only real worthwhile thing I can find to take away from this article is that if you live in a place that gets less sunlight during the winter, you should try to find a reason to be outside for 5-10 minutes during the middle of the day to get enough sun exposure to make your vitamin D. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
How ya doing, buddy? |
