Those songs look pretty good so far, hopefully the same quality will be around for all the later tracks they're releasing.

Also hoping for less disparity between the tracks I like and don't like in this one. GH1 had a few tracks I didn't like, but unlike GH2 there weren't any I felt were just awful to listen to.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

You could always try Frets on Fire, a PC-based clone with a shitload of songs that people have released tracks for. Of course, that game has the same problem that your idea would, in that they'd have a pretty hard time muting the guitar track alone whenever you screwed up. I've always felt that's one of the things that made Guitar Hero so much more interactive than rhythm games like DDR.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Yeah, I tried to find one for the PC but with no luck. It's a shame because it would let me use my PS2 -> USB adapter again.

Or you could just get a PS2 controller -> USB adapter for $10 and not have to buy a brand new controller.

How ya doing, buddy?

Slayer's Raining Blood can go fucking die. After trying that song in Hard for at least 4 hours, I couldn't beat it until I practiced the notes slower and kinda got the hang of it. I still hate it with passion and wish it was never added.

The soundtrack is decent, with a few great songs, like Knights of Cydonia, Number of the Beast, One, Talk Dirty to Me, The Devil Went Down to Georgia, Avalanca (Fuck yeah for Heroes del Silencio), and a couple of others.

I mean though, fuck, the difficulty is ridiculously high for Hard, and tried Expert and wasn't really fun. This is something I really dislike about the game, and ruins a lot of the fun for me. Guitar Hero 2 was the first rhythm game I have picked up in a long time since my dancepad for DDR died, and Hard had its difficulty, but wasn't ridiculous like this game is. I do way better on Expert at GH2 than this one. Have seen videos of Youtube of people doing all these crazy feats like beating Through the Fire and Flames, and all sorts of shit. God damnit, I can hardly do it on Normal, and Hard feels like Expert at some point because it's just stupid.

I enjoy the game at certain point, but perhaps I'll try Rock Band out. Been checking the soundtrack, and the gameplay videos, it looks more fun than this one, because I'm sure it won't be frustrating to play when I don't know how to play a real guitar for shit (when I really want to learn later on).

These are my two cents.
Well, they probably imagine people that have been playing since the first GH have been getting better, so they should gradually ramp the difficulty up so they don't feel like they can walk up to the newest game and beat expert on their first play through.

Can't you still unlock all of the content just by playing through the game on Normal? Complaining about not being able to beat GH3 on the highest level is like complaining about not being able to beat Wolfenstein on the hardest difficulty. You just need to be really freaking good at the game in order to do it.
