Look into professor organizations for your specialization. For example, I belong to Materials Advantage and the Materials Research Society and have received scholarships in one for or another from both. Also, as a student, you should be able to get a decent discount for joining. Should only be $20-50 to join and it's well worth it.
Other than that, you can try talking to a career counselor at your school since they tend to know about those things a bit. Or even try talking to some of your professors to see if they know of any places or specific scholarships to apply for (or, if you're a pretty good student, they might recommend you for a scholarship). Jam it back in, in the dark. |
When you're a middle-class white male in Engineering from the suburbs, there's really not a whole lot of the special interest type scholarships available to you. The closest Fastweb tends to do for me is ones for the National Vacuum Coater's Association of America. And like hell I want to spend my life designing materials for vacuum systems.
