Your friend needs to determine if there are actual conflicts between the girl and his friends or if she just wants to be clingy to him and only him. I was in a relationship situation where the girl had no friends and clearly wasn't interested in trying to mingle with my friends and spent a large amount of time criticizing them when we were alone. Some people are happy with just one-on-one, some people
need friends, and some people don't care too much.
