I've preordered the PC version and will be joining this game with several friends. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you there

I'll be in-game on Wednesday evening when I get home from work.

Silly question: If the release date is the 24th does that mean game stores will have copies then or will it actually only be available for sale on the 25th? I don't remember what the EB clerk said for the release date because I preordered nearly a month ago.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I think, due to the length of the test, its content, and the fact that it was a free download, that the open beta for 360 was a stress test for the servers.
Quoted for truth. Lag in this occassion would be highly expected. I'd probably also expect serious database blocking issues causing the realms to go down temporarily every once in a while. These kinds of things tend to happen. I remember the first day RO went public beta... holy god it was pure hell and you couldn't move a single step in 15 minutes. WoW beta was pretty decent but when it went retail... damn that thing was painful for a good 2 weeks at least.

Character Name: Tenki
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Class: Hunter
Game Version: PC

Desired Class: Fortefighter
Weapon of Choice: Spear

I think I'm gonna hang out on Universe 3 for a bit since it's fairly high up the list so should be populated decently at all times but not full.

Only showing one party outside of Neudaiz. I'm guessing you cleared the first area already. I'm in the city outside of the Flyer Base currently.

Okay, so I created a Cast Ranger today to try and play around with something different and I realize that I kinda suck at it...

I start with a rifle and notice the thing is 3/4 empty after clearing 2 rooms. I'm guessing I should be doing something different, maybe half melee - half ranged?

Also, I'm thinking about trying a different weapon. Do any of you know of any good ranged weapons that regen PP fast?

But just so you know I'm not planning on playing it online at all and am only going to be playing it offline. So is it still worth the purchase? And other then the online community what else would I be missing out on?
The single player is basically your typical 40-hour action RPG, somewhat like .hack. If that kind of thing appeals to you then it might be worth your time.

On a sidenote, if you're low on funds, I think you can just download it for the single player if you're okay with that kind of thing.

I currently believe I do not have Partner Cards for Para, Guest, Kenichi, and Kairi Li. If you would all like, I can be on to meet you @10PM EST, Universe 15, Parum Juice Stand. Any others are welcome to come as well. The more the merrier I say.

If any of you need a group and see me online, feel free to send me a simple mail - any level player is welcome. Usually I do runs with a group of anywhere between 3-5 including myself (usually the same people too) so we have some spots open.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Personally I've been enjoying the XBOX360 controller on the PC. I found out that Microsoft no longer makes sidewinder gamepads and are standardizing with the 360 controller. It works a lot better than keyboard for me because using keyboard for hours on end in games hurts my hands a bit

People who have the PC version cannot play with people who have the 360 version. I'd see if your brother could get a copy for PC instead.

I'm not sure how their EULA works in regards to household licensing. Likely you do have to buy 1 copy per PC legally. Additionally you'd need Guardian's licenses for each. However, the game doesn't have a CD-key and doesn't stop you from using a single copy per household (which might be legally okay anyway). You will still need 2 Guardian licenses though.

Okay, so I've talked to a few people from GFF and they had some questions about expert classes so I thought I'd throw together a post here to help them decide easier.

First off, it should be noted that these classes are not yet in the US version of the game, though you should still be working and building your character towards your choice of expert class.

Source: PSUpedia.org (the site of slow doom)

Class Descriptions

Fortefighter
This type is for those who specialize in melee combat. They gain exclusive access to S-Rank Axes, along with other melee weapons. The only available ranged weapon are handguns, however they have much higher ATP and DFP. They gain Bullets up to level 10 and cannot use Techniques.

Fortegunner
This type is for those who specialize in ranged combat. Fortegunners gain exclusive access to many S-Rank ranged weapons, and their ATP and ATA are top-notch. They gain Skills up to level 10, but cannot use Techniques.

Fortecher
This type is for those who specialize in technique combat. Fortechers gain exclusive access to S-Rank Longbows, Staves, Rods, and Cards; Fortechers are able to use all techniques, however they suffer from lower DFP. They also gain Skills to level 10, and Bullets up to level 30.

Figunner
This type combines the abilities of a Hunter with a Ranger. Figunners gain exclusive access to Double Sabers, S-Rank Sabers, Twin Daggers and Twin Sabers; they can use all melee weapons except Axes. They cannot use Techniques.

Guntecher
This type combines the abilities of a Ranger with a Force, with added Hunter ability. They have exclusive access to S-Rank Dual Pistols, Machine Guns, and Crossbows. They specialize in Bullets, but are able to use Skills and Techniques as well.

Wartecher
This type combines the abilities of a Force with a Hunter, with added Ranger ability. The Wartechers gain no exclusive weaponry, but are unique in their ability to utilize both Skills and Techniques equally well.

Protranser
Protransers take pride in their ability to skillfully utilize traps in battle. They are the only class without the ability to use any S-Rank weapons; however, they are able to use all types of traps including those of much greater power than normal. They cannot use Techniques, but can have Skills and Bullets up to level 30.

Levels required for expert classes

Fortefighter: 10 Hunter
Fortegunner: 10 Ranger
Fortecher: 10 Force
Fighgunner: 5 Hunter 3 Ranger
Guntecher: 5 Ranger 3 Force
Wartecher: 3 Hunter 5 Force
Protranser: 5 Hunter 5 Ranger 5 Force

Class Weapon Usability

Classes can only use some weapons of S rank. Typically you'd want to be using the highest rank weapons available in order to have highest damage and accuracy.

Fortefighter
S Rank: Swords, Knuckles, Spears, Axes, Twin Claws, Claws
A Rank: Twin Sabers, Twin Daggers, Sabers, Daggers, Handguns

Fortegunner
S Rank: Rifles, Shotguns, Laser Cannons, Grenade Launchers, Handguns
A Rank: Sabers, Daggers, Spears, Twin Handguns, Crossbows, Machineguns

Fortecher
S Rank: Rods, Wands, Longbows, Cards
A Rank: Sabers, Daggers, Spears, Twin Daggers, Handguns

Figunner
S Rank: Sabers, Twin Sabers, Daggers, Twin Daggers, Double Sabers
A Rank: Swords, Knuckles, Spears, Twin Claws, Claws, Twin Handguns, Handguns, Crossbows, Machineguns

Guntecher
S Rank: Handguns, Twin Handguns, Crossbows, Machineguns
A Rank: Sabers, Daggers, Rifles, Shotguns, Longbows, Wands, Cards

Wartecher
S Rank: Daggers, Twin Daggers
A Rank: Knuckles, Spears, Twin Sabers, Twin Claws, Sabers, Claws, Longbows, Handguns, Cards, Wands

Protranser
A Rank: Swords, Knuckles, Spears, Axes, Sabers, Shotguns, Longbows, Grenade Launchers, Laser Cannons, Handguns

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm assuming you could probably switch at any time like you can with regular classes, although if you do that a lot it could probably throw your stats way out of balance and mess up your character. I guess that's why they have Protranser afterall.

How ya doing, buddy?

I have a similar problem but it's with all loading zones - it will sit at the zone screen for about 40 seconds. I'm always the last person in a zone and out of it.
Oh, that would explain some things. I was in the party at the time of this black screen loading and it was seriously like a good 5 minutes long. One of the other party members the next day told me that they accidentally knocked over their PS2 then, killing both the unit and the game. Obviously, they weren't online when the fight started.

I had heavily considered Wartecher as a main in PSU for sometime. I believe their biggest uses will be in small groups or solo. So in a group that you don't have a healer and it's small, a Wartecher is a great addition. The Wartecher isn't so great at techs so for a majority of their time they'll be doing melee, and throw in heals when needed or when presented against a mob that is very weak against techs.

For solo, they should be awesome. With Dual Dagger PA they can do decent damage and regen their PP pretty fast. Then of course they can heal and remove status effects. So this would make them a bit less costly when it comes to solo compared to a Fortetecher who would have to expend larger amounts of PP to deal damage despite their PP cost bonus.
