I like to see unique enemies, not usually of the humanoid type. I like the far out enemies since they usually have really strange attacks that no human could ever naturally pull off. It's just that humanoids usually seem to fall into the "enemy soldier" category with not much innovation. They'll have some kind of gun or maybe a sword, and you know they can't do anything really neat like growing needles to shoot from their bodies or something.
While no enemy designs have been zany enough to make me turn away in disgust, I did hear of an interesting enemy in Shadow Hearts that uses a certain appendage to attack x_x As well, I was mortified at Yunalesca's second form which was some kind of bizarre hybrid.
I would like to see more variety in human types in RPGs, and I mean for regular enemies. We all know that Sephiroth and Ultimecia can hurl planets at you, and that Exdeath and Kefka have grotesque amalgations, but poor grunts and soldiers can only do so much as swing a sword at you.
How ya doing, buddy?
