Gitaroo Man Awareness + Appreciation Thread

Keep the love coming!
Temporarily immortalized in my av/sig. I have finally experienced the joy of the Gitaroo power! I've listened to the soundtrack so frequently, that I was ready for my favourite songs, but I couldn't stand playing through "Nuff Respect" at all.

The characters are all pretty cute and I love the narration in the collection section. All the eyecandy is very distracting when you play, and if you're not focusing on the trace line and the buttons constantly while you're playing, you just screwed up your health bar. This game should have a severe seizure warning for lots of parts. When Gregorio III is firing organ beams at you and Flying-O's death rays strike the circle of people, you have to see all the flash and glitz which is very funny to watch.

Boogie For an Afternoon - first stage is deceptively easy and then they throw
Twisted Reality - "Gitaroo...can I eat it?"
Flying To Your Heart - energetic j-dance. Cool pose and held note when you beat it. Although taking the gitaroos from your opponents always looks wicked whenever you win.
Bee Jam Blues - fortunately Mojo just said "come on now" for each of the many times I died
Void - purely dodging attacks is fun, as long as you limit your mistakes
Nuff Respect - BORING! I would have died had U1 not kept distracting the robot.
The Legendary Theme - How soothing! Purely attack, so you still need to exercise caution with mistakes.
Born To Be Bone - Yes, yes, yes! A dodgefest to start you off and then a very catchy latin song.
Tainted Lovers - Ooh nice, something that absolutely suits an electric guitar now. Gregorio III is the best freak ever! Who else can use a whole cathedral to attack?
Overpass -> Legendary Theme - tragic
Resurrection - first try! Lots of battery opportunities

I really wish they could have had an extended version of 21st Century Boy or even just the Japanese version.

Anyhoo, there's my two cents. I also believe that Master's Mode is for crazy people. Just wow!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Heh I traded in Gitaroo Man days after I bought it towards a PSP. It's still a great game, but I definitely don't have the time to try and practice master's mode. Flyin' To Your Heart is my favourite song, but if I made one more mistake in Boogie For An Afternoon, I would have died (it was that close)! I've listened to my favourite songs on the OST so many times (Born To Be Bone, Tainted Lovers, and Flyin' To Your Heart), but my left thumb always seems to think it's right on target when it's far from it.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I know, I like to do stupid things like that

About the soundtrack difference, I think you have a point there, I was surprised to hear that in-game, Flying To Your Heart is 30 seconds longer than the OST. As well, I get different parts in Tainted Lovers depending on how well I do, although I like the OST riffs over some of the in game ones, as well as the organ shots.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Weehoo, that's some nifty box art. I'm glad I snagged a PSP

I'm just scared that even with the analog nub being used for the directions that it will be nowhere near as accurate as on the ps2. If you had to always make sure you were perfectly holding in the right direction, then it would definitely be harder on the PSP's nub.

I was speaking idiomatically.
