Jazzflight, how is Ultimate Block Party? I've been meaning to pick it up if I ever see it anywhere, although I heard no mention of chain shouts with different characters like in Puyo Pop Fever or Tetris Attack.
I also want to pick up Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max since I had not played SFA 3, even back in the PS1 days. Ingrid really is the driving factor since I loved her in Capcom Fighting Evolution, although I also like this Dramatic Battle feature too. Looks like I'm over-excited about trying stuff out because the third game I'm looking at is Darkstalkers Chronicle. I just need to know if it's more of the same stuff as Darkstalkers 3? I'll get it if the unlockables are worthy. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Does this happen to anyone else?
Every time I turn my PSP on, I sort of have to turn it on twice. I put the switch and see the display and hear the sound but then it turns off immediately, and the next time I turn it on in the same way, it stays on... (got it used) There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Oh well too bad for me, at least my save data isn't being wiped out.
I heard that an 8GB memory stick is coming out soon? To me that sounds like a lot, but I also heard these prices go above $100? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Yeah Luxo, you have EXACTLY the same situation that I had a couple of weeks ago. Except that the store owner gave me a 512 MB card for free with it.
I do not regret it yet (even though I'm really hard up for any kind of cash now). Make sure you factor in that you need the money to buy at least one game (haven't checked the sampler disc yet). If you have a wireless router, then you can have fun with the novelty of browsing the net at slower but portable speeds. No more restriction by sitting at the computer! Popolocrois interested me, but I don't like the sound of no flashy attacks. Would it be comparable to Okage: Shadow King by any chance? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I probably shouldn't be asking this, but anyone have emu experience? Now that I have time to do stuff, I just got the sudden urge to try and play my wacky snes roms and play rpgs on the fly and actually get more use out of my psp than dying in Lumines repeatedly.
I did various google searches and they're all forums with speculation rather than process, barring psphacks. So far I've gathered: -MS needed (obviously) -usb cable -1.5 firmware and thus a downgrader (dang! Why'd I have to update to 2.6 right out of the box?) I would just like to know how it's worked for most others. I'm scared about the memory card obsoletion thing, but fortunately I only have the one file on it so it wouldn't be too bad if something happened. However, I plan on picking up Me and My Katamari/SFA3Max next week and I bet those need the 2.6 so I'm in a bind here. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I'm scared that it will fade away too, but I'm buying my games now anyway. Better to get them before they become obscure, rather than cheaper.
Ultimate Block Party The visuals are totally distracting in a good way, with all the cute anime characters, and the gameplay is a high ranking contender for the word "frantic". Having each block colour do something different to the opponent is actually quite lethal. Keep in mind, you probably will not have time to even consider which colours you clear since it can get messy on your side really quickly as well. It's harder than Tetris Attack since you are managing 4 blocks (most of the time) in a square formation, as opposed to switching 2 panels, where you don't have to consider direction of rotation. Sealing off bottom rows, obscuring visible colours, making blocks immovable, wiping lines + columns, etc. are some of the crazy things that can even happen simultaneously! You'll have to be quick with your fingers in order to survive. Glitter aside, it's definitely not worth a full $46 (CDN), as the highlight is actually the versus mode, which will be fun with similarly skilled friends. Since switching blocks will be the only thing you do...with the absence of significant unlockables. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Frown... US stores only... I was just on the edge of buying Megaman Powered Up too. Oh well, my local game store has half off several new PSP games anyways, I'll see if those would be worth it. I'm eyeing Darkstalkers (finally)

Mega frown~my GTA copy arbitrarily decided to stop working, thus eliminating emulation. I keep getting a "disc cannot be read" error which pops up after like 15 minutes of trying to read it. It was working fine two weeks ago but when I decided to play recently, and it magically acquired scratches or something from just sitting the case
![]() Off to rebuy a copy soon :@ What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Normal roms work...a working snes emulator should be on the compatibility list at Fanjita's Place, since those are specially tailored to the PSP.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I do hope that they will continue to able to come out with downgraders like that for future releases. I would love to play the Valkyrie Profile port when it comes out, but I also want to keep my portable SNES rpgs handy. Although I guess figuring out another exploit in 2.7/2.8 would be just as good too.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
