I've wanted this ever since I've heard the buzz about it around E3 time. I wonder how drawing with the brush would work, since I can only picture that kind of thing being done accurately on a DS compared to a PS2 controller. I guess there would be simplified strokes or at the very least, analog stick usage.
The world itself looks very colourful and artistic. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I'm totally excited! All tests finished and I was surprised to find it at Blockbuster when my friend who works at EB said it would be in next week on the 27th for some reason.
I'm going to pop it in the PS2 after this and eagerly hope that it lives up to the insanely high reviews and innovative gameplay seen in the trailers. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The language reminds me of Animal Crossing speak even though it's not just the words sped up. It sort of annoys me since the sounds are repetitive, but I think I can vaguely grasp the effect they were going for with it. I wouldn't have been disappointed with voice acting though.
Okami is truely as beautiful as I initially thought and I am very pleased with the amount of brush freedom. I don't quite see the urgent need to up your ink bottle capacity yet though. I'm now excited at what possible kind of secret twist the end of the game could throw at you, as stated in the manual? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I have questions since I was really slow and backtracked around the time you beat Hana Valley and found stuff like the nighttime visible treasures, and stopping to feed every animal.
1) Has anyone practically used trees in battle? I'm tempted so much more to slash enemies instead of seeing if my trees would succesfully sprout. 2) What is Godhood? I found 2 traveller's charms but must have missed the stat in the fan menu or something. 3) Should I really just sell treasures? They have pretty descriptions. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I think I missed about how important this Godhood thing is somewhere.
Would that happen to be that indicator that sometimes appears on the bottom left when you enter battle? It seems to change from green to yellow to red, but I have no clue what the effect is. I've clocked 9 hours and I'm only at the Tsuta Ruins still, since there are so many hidden nooks and crannies and things to find out within the areas available to you! I can't find Ume at all after getting the vine technique and I've searched and re-searched the whole level twice, looking for bloom ops. Most amazing jew boots |
There are lots and lots and lots of secrets and rewards to be gained by backtracking. I've clocked 9 hours and have only beaten the first boss, but have gotten lots of praise points, items, and terrain knowledge from going back and revisiting places and exploring in general.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
