I stopped listening to the radio years ago, because every time I'd turn it on, I'd hear the same song, or hear it within 6 minutes. It was like: "Oh, they're playing 'Sandstorm' again...", or "not 'I'm Like A Bird' again!?" Mainstream songs annoyed me with the horrendous amounts of times they would be played.
I only have a total of 3 songs that have surpassed the 100 playcount mark, and one them is less than 2 minutes long. Therefore, unless it's one of my absolute favourite songs, I average anywhere from 50-100 listens before it no longer is something I like as much.
Any song that ceases to be my favourite is thrown into playlist of former favourites, aka. "Five Star Songs", which I actually still enjoy listening through with shuffle on.
