Same here. I remember watching Video On Trial and one Ashlee Simpson song was a perfect example, whining about the days of the week or something. I really hate when it feels like the lyrics are just used to be a prop for the melody to come out. Although, it's somewhat hypocritical of me because I also like my lyrics in mostly unintelligible Japanese, mostly because I do like the melody of a particular song. However, the point is that when I can understand the lyrics and they're njust filler then I dislike it.
With rare exceptions, chiptune music really pierces my ears and I can't stand all the high climatic notes as the Song of the Year contest has proven. I'd have to force myself to listen to a chiptune that I didn't know I liked since the highest notes are too high for me to like.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
