seems like for all companies Wii=cheap out on graphics, even though it is a more powerful system than an XBOX and should be able to produce at least comparable graphics.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I agree. The system obviously has the potential to make games that , while not quite as high quality in the graphics dept. as the 360, should be in the ballpark because it is not having to broadcast the images in HD.
But all I have seen so far, with the exception of Red Steel, Metroid, and Mario Galaxy, are games that are subpar for even GameCube and PS2 and may even be in the realm of N64 Graphics. I mean sure the focus is on gameplay, but this does not give the developers the right to de-evolve in the other areas. Mark my words, if this continues, the general public will be put off by the system and it will fail. Developers need to make it a next gen system in EVERY aspect. New and innovative gameplay, better graphics, and better sound. Fall short in any of those 3 areas consistently and you will have a global flop of a system. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
no judging from screenshots of every game except 3. If the gameplay is anything like the graphics (half baked, which I assume it will be) the game will fail. If the developer thinks they can put little in and get a lot back they are wrong. The general public is not that dumb. And the ones that are will buy the more expensive system and get just as crappy games with better graphics.
Yes, I am extremely excited about the Wii and its revolutionary gameplay possiblities, but if all the games are 2nd hand ports, in which the development team makes a crappy non-upgraded port of an already crappy PS2 game, why would people bother forking over money for it. Revolutionary controller or not, half baked games that are under developed WILL NOT sell the Wii. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
well that Wii screen looks significantly better than the IGN shots but I wish there was one that shows off the terrain.

Just in case your interested, there is a new trailer of heatseeker up at IGN that shows off the motion controls. It showcases the gfx a little more than previous videos but it's still hard to tell what the game really looks like, if it has that GC port low res look or if they are actually smoothing it over for the wii version at least a little bit with AA using the added horsepower. This would be easier to tell if the vid was captured in 480P but ohh well it isn't. Game actually looks fun, and while it may never be an Ace Combat, it might be ok. I hope it doesn't suck.
Enjoy: http://media.wii.ign.com/media/858/858377/vids_1.html I was speaking idiomatically. |
Wow, actually from the hands on at IGN this game is sounding better, I am starting to become a little more optimistic about it. They claim that it controls very well.
