Sin -- Episode 1

Anyone got around to playing this yet? I am tempted to buy it at the nice price of $19.99 but i have no deffinate opition on it and i cannot try a demo, i think i might play it at a friends house to see if i like it but i am hesitent on just buying before i play. It looks good and am told you get your every dollars worth but i rather hear from the folks at GamingForce. So tell me...comments?

Oh well, hopefully that turns out well for you. I might go an buy Sin ep.1 if it is $15 next week then, because that sounds better than paying $20 for it right now...

Their characters, environments and animations aren't on par with HL2's. (aside from the ones they used right out of HL2) They're more reminiscent of Vampire the Masquerade's, actually. And for some reason it slows down in wierd places, slower than HL2's big open areas (like the crane bit)

Gameplay is standard FPS. Kill guys, don't die, unlock this door, climb through this vent, etc.

I don't know if it was worth the 20 bucks myself.

Well, from the sound of it, i like it ^_^ i like a good looking old fashioned style FPS sometimes, and for $20, it only interveens with wither to get HL:Ep1 or SiN:Ep1, obviously the smart choice is HL:Ep1. I will decide if someone can prove to me which is better! ;D

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I have three complaints:
1. Steam - I dislike the steam application, and unlike HL2, this game will probably garner a more extensive use of the nearly obligatory online connection/"validation feature".

This is mostly speculation and educated guesing, as they said they still need to determine the extent of the outcomes (I am relieved that they at least acknowledged this possible problem and are addressing it).

is there a good seeded torrent out? I'll at least try it out before making a final judgement.

Yea, that is the one thing i hate about Steam, since everything has to be validated it is hard to download a game and play it without having to validate it. It is kinda annoying but on the plus side almost all Valve games are pretty damn good. As for the price, a agree that it is kinda expensive and i will probably buy it once the second episode comes out. might be cheaper then...
