I'm going to wind up getting a Wii for certain, but unless I get the option of swapping back and forth between control schemes, I think I'm going to settle with the Gamecube. Nintendo is going to drag me kicking and screaming into using their doofy little wand. Plus, I don't have widescreen. Console manufacturers are overestimating how many people actually own hi-def televisions, I think.
"How Silly Will I Look Playing This" indeed.

Wii isn't a hidef system. It can do 480p, but that's not really HD. Your Wii games will look fine on a regular TV.
Also, the reason console manufacturers are making things HD-compatible is that in the next few years HDTVs are going to come way down in price, and they will become ubiquitous. When you're making a device you want to last for 5 or 6 years, you need to plan a head a bit.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
