LCD Computer monitor as HDTV
I'm considering buying a 24" LCD flat panel computer monitor that's capable of 1920 x 1200 resolution (1080p) to use as an HDTV.
How would I go about doing this? What extra converter (if any) would I need to ensure that the appropriate High Definition signals reach my monitor and provide the appropriate picture quality? Thank you. Jam it back in, in the dark.
The only way out is through.

Second question, I already have a 21" CRT monitor: Sony Multiscan CPD-E540 Review and User Opinions. Monitors Reviews by Digital Trends.
is it possible to use this as an HDTV? It says that its resolution is: Resolution: 1600 x 1200 (UXGA), 1920 x 1440 How ya doing, buddy?

True. I don't know what to do with my CRT, since I have no use for it really and it's just taking up space.
I'm considering buying this monitor: Newegg.com - Acer P243WAid Black-Silver 24" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor with HDCP Support 400 cd/m2 3000:1 ACM - LCD Monitors I'm just unsure as to what all of the specifications mean, what should I look for in terms of pixel pitch, display colors, brightness, display type, etc? Every monitor I've bought so far only have that single cable that you attach to the computer, this one comes with a couple of extra ports it seems (according to the specs on the website) but which ones would allow me to connect the monitor to my speakers, cable box, video game system, etc? Thank you. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
The only way out is through.
