I'd suggest the Toshiba Satellite A105. I got a killer deal from Circuit City in August. Its specs are 1.73ghz dual core, 2 gb ram, 120 gb hdd, dvd burner/etc, fingerprint reader. It came with a printer too. All $1150.
I would have been satisfied with atleast a gig of ram, dual core processor, and like an 60gb hdd though. Jam it back in, in the dark.
The only way out is through.
