ATI is currently leading performance-wise.
Their HD4870 X2 dual-chip card is clearly outperforming the best card nvidia can offer. Also the price is very good, around 400 EUR for the 4870 X2. I'm planning to get a normal HD 4850 later this year, when all problems with PowerPlay are fixed and when there are stable open-source linux 3D drivers available. Probably at a time when nvidia releases new cards and the prices drop again. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
