I'm currently using Seamonkey 1.1.2 running on a 32bit linux kernel. I never had any real problems with the Mozilla engine until I started to install plugins, namely the Flash plugin. Now most of the time I close the last tab that uses flash to render something the browser window freezes and doesn't update gfx anymore. System shows no CPU usage of seamonkey and (soft) killing the process works instantly.
So it's really not a Mozilla engine problem (I also the use the VideoLAN, mplayer and Java plugin - but never had any problems with them) but Adobe, who can't code any half-decent plugin. The fact that nearly every site out there has to use flash to advertising and stuff makes the problem even worse. Most amazing jew boots |
