Then rezero the entire harddrive and create partition table from scratch. It's the way I 'reinstalled' my dell notebook: 1. backup entire harddisk to external drive (using dd and compressing it later with 7z) 2. rezero harddrive (which kills the rescue partitions dell always creates) 3. divide drive into two equally large partitions (w2k/gentoo dualboot) 4. install operating system I (w2k) 5. install operating system II (gentoo) 6. works, yeah ![]() No problems with drivers because I could get them all from the dell support site (this applies to the windows os). Like Dayvon said, make sure you have all drivers or you have some place you can get them. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
