I can play the game via PC and VC but I choose VC because I feel like it.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Turtles did not come out for US. Excitebike did. ...
Damn. I wish it did.

Actually, when I was on the shop channel, I only saw two games (no Excitebike). I restarted the channel again to "refeash it" and not only it didn't show Excitebike but the images didn't load either. o_O

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Oh that happened this month, they released Ocarina of Time...unless they didn't do that where you live. Hopefully in April, we can finally do a barrel roll!
WTF? I thought it was release at the end of February. Guess I owned the original (N64 cart), the pre-order with Master Quest and Collection disc for the GCN that I didn't bother/forget about OoT on VC. :/

I also do get excited about RPG but I already own the actual Paper Mario cart. The only question is, is it worth 1000point/$10 so I don't have to drag the N64 out from my closet? Same goes when they are going to release Super Mario RPG... and maybe non-RPG games like Yoshi's Island... *sighs*

EDIT: Actually, when I think about it, my SNES doesn't really work well and if the battery dies in SMRPG and YI, then I would definitely buy them. >_>

I was speaking idiomatically.

Oh? Is Nintendo back to 1-N64-game-a-month now?

Other than that, I'm broke and not really interested in this week.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Well Pokémon Snap 1 is coming out on December 10 in North America. Check out pokemon.com for the info.

Hmm, I already wasted $80 of VC games because the first Wii I had borked. Not sure if I want to go back to it... >_>

Sadly I won't be surprise if it ISN'T in the US version because... you know... Nintendo is an ass... sometimes.

Yeah, some Masterpiece needs to be "unlock" first so you can "try it out".

How ya doing, buddy?

For whatever reason, NOA's been intent on completely disassociating themselves with the Mother franchise. So, I wouldn't be surprised if whoever makes these decisions told Treehouse (NOA's localization department) to nix the Mother/Mother 2 masterpieces (do both of them show up in the Japanese version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl?).
You can start playing Mother 2 without unlocking anything from the beginning. The demo gives you 5 minutes to play but the intro waste about 2 minutes of it. I'm not sure about Mother (1) yet.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

If you skip the chitchat then yes...

For a game like Mother2/Earthbound, it would be better if they do it more like a "level demo" instead of a time demo. You could finish a section of the game to get a feeling of it instead of a screen pops up saying, "Time's up! Buy this game! plzkthx".

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Pfft. As much I want to buy Pokemon Puzzle League, I still got the physical game that my sister bought 4-5 years ago... for $10!

Now bring out Earthbound and port+translate/localize Mother 3 to the DS already Nintendo!

Don't be silly! Of course is going to come over here!

So it's like...:
Nintendo - 800 Wii Points
SquareEnix - 100 Wii Point
Total = 900 Wii Points

This might be the ONLY game I'll buy even though I still have the SNES cart and/or I could "download" it for free. >_>

Does anyone know if Japan ever got their Super Mario RPG? I don't see how it would be so hard for them to make up for the mistake that was E3 and just release some more good classics. I mean, it's been about 6 months since their last one yeah?
According to Wikipedia and people posting on gbatemp.net, yes it was release on June 24. People are surprise that no one has (buy and) dumped the game yet and perhaps inject the US/English rom.

I guess this is another time when Nintendo felt sorry for EU/PAL and release Super Mario RPG before North America.

Oh well, I can wait. I mean, I already downloaded the Japanese version and might do the same for the "European" version.

[Related to VC (and WiiWare!)] Funny that this nice homebrew called Any Region Changer came out on the same day as SMRPG. Now you can (ie) use your US Wii Points and shop on the Japanese Wii Shop Channel!

How ya doing, buddy?

I wonder why Nintendo decided to screwed PAL and themselves (meaning Japan) by charging 100 extra Wii Points?

In any case... *goes download/buy*

Wasn't the game never released in Europe and Australia or something? That would explain the 100 points extra.
Yes but it doesn't explain why Japan was ALSO 100 Wii Points more too.

I never realized exactly how short Super Mario RPG is. I'm already at the Sunken Ship after playing from the Mushroom Kingdom within the entire span of yesterday! Maybe things are easier when you're older or when you already know what to do and when to grind
LOL yeah it's the same situation for me too. It's fun playing it again nevertheless.

But it's MUCH fun to watch a friend who NEVER play it in the first place (he died on the "first boss").

Since the Wii (general) thread is dead and this is more concern about VC and WiiWare, I'll post it here.

On page 6 of Nintendo Conference Fall 2008, Iwata said they're going to make it more convenience to store VC and WiiWare games on SD card. This what believe at first that you can now directly play VC and WiiWare games off a SD card. Well it doesn't look like it!

We will also make it so that you will need to go through just one process in order to transfer Virtual Console or WiiWare software stored on an SD card to the Wii console and then be able to play it. We would like to deal with this issue utilizing two methods. Since the updates to realize these new structures will require significant revisions to the Wii system, and these changes need to be made by taking care of a variety of different angles, this method will become effective beginning next spring. For some of you, this may be considered late. But please know that we really appreciate your cooperation and understanding. We are working hard so we can begin the service as soon as possible.
So basically it's a one-click swap of VC/WiiWare. Not more storage space, just making it less pain-in-the-ass to transfer VC/WiiWare games from SD to Wii and vice versa.

Oh, I laugh at this statement:

If you want to install other regional VC/Wiiware games you either install a "preloader" that makes your Wii region free or use a program called "freethewad" to make a VC/Wiiware game region free.

I thought Majora's Mask always have some sound problem on the original N64 too... unless it's a different kind of sound problem (after all, you are trying to play a PAL game on a NTSC system/TV).

Anyway, the NA version is out there.
