[Wii] Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Ver. 214. Gobble Gobble Gobble, Slurp Slurp Slurp

Oh yeah, I also did the DMZ thing and THAT solves my problem (about people having difficult connecting to me)... well half of it anyway.

I find it strange that I'll lag with anyone who have cable for their ISP but not with people who have DSL or Fios. I did a test with my cousin and my brother's friend. My cousin is from Rehoboth, MA and have cable while my brother's friend is from Lowell, MA and have DSL. I'm from Providence, RI and also have DSL. So we're close to each other but I'm more close to my cousin than to my brother's friend (check a map and see for yourself). With my cousin we lag and it varies from okay to bad. With my brother's friend it was almost lag-free. Don't get me started with my brother's other friend who have Fios and he's from Pennsylvania.

So I hope this problem is within Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection because it would sucks that I can only play lag-free with DSL and Fios user.

Oh, my Friend List is almost filled up. I've added everybody but some of them aren't registered. I'm going to get the list of people who aren't registered because if you're not planning on adding me I will delete you off the list so I can have room for others. >_>

I'm from the east cost and I'll say the lag isn't bad... actually I didn't notice a lag at all (BTW good games you guys XD). Last night in one match with 3 other people the lag was so horrible I have to leave the room because a 3 minute match would end up being 15 minutes. Then I enter another room with three other people and the match runs lag-free. I'll still say that I'll lag from cable user (mostly from Comcast) so hopefully Nintendo will fix this soon!

Oh, I finally fill up my friend roster. Since I got more GFF FC than others, I'll keep you guys on my JP copy while moving everybody else to my US copy (when it arrives). This way it isn't a hassle for you guys to re-add me with my US FC.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh, my brother and I also Brawl with Idle last night. Only one crazy match and lasted about 11 minutes because either Idle intentionally set or forgot that time was on infinity. I was wondering, "When the hell is this match going to end?!"

I don't think having your router and the Wii next to each other would help. Even being close there could be interference with other device like cell and cordless phone. Best way to avoid it is by being wired/LAN. Following that GameFAQs guide should really help.

Also about last night, I was lagging because my other brother (yes I have two brothers @_@) just came home from who-knows-where and start downloading all his TV shows he missed from the past week. So his torrent was running non-stop (he have his own computer) and I told him to cap his upload and download speed but I doubt he did it. x_x

You have to manually adjust the image to 16:9 as the program assume it's a 4:3 image. XP

Nope. It goes to a "Nintendo server" where they will look to see if it doesn't contain penis-like image and curse words. Then it will be randomly send out to each Wii who enable Smash Service.

Once a picture is taken in 4:3 or 16:9, it stays like that. Just use Photoshop or something else to change the resolution (I forgot the exact number). >_>

Yes as someone has said but it's going to be a pain to add everybody who also have Brawl. So either use bin2jpg or share the actual .bin file on the forum.

From what Nintendo stated and what I heard from other people, you will NOT lose any of your savegame data, VC and WiiWare/Internet Channel. In some case your savegame will still be in the Wii while you have to redownload all your VC and WiiWare software that you bought at no charge.

So now my cousin, my brother and I are going to be spending time doing everything all over again. I'm not saying it's a pain but we do quite enjoy unlocking everything again. XD

Okay, tomorrow (Sunday) I'm going to pop in my JP copy and delete everybody on my friend roster since it's such a mess. I had already move non-GFF FC to my US copy. I'm going to re-add everybody FC that's on the wiki page and leave my Wii connected online to make sure it "registered" everyone. If you already added me you don't have to do anything... beside connecting online to make sure I'm registered on your side.

Yeah, it's kind of strange that the game runs fine then at some point the game lag (aka freezes) for a few seconds, then resume as "normal" while I was watching my brother Brawling you guys (I would had joined but I was busy at the time).

And it seems like my brother is picking up my bitch-paperfan-slapping habit.

Heh, this remind me when my cousin, my brother, and I set a "theme" where we only set one item (like the paper fan, hammer, pokeball, bomb, etc) and set it high and set the match at fast speed. We mostly ended up SD'ed and lololz ourselves than KO'ing each other.

Oh, I order myself those LAN adapter to see if it makes any different (I doubt it though... >_>)

I'm not 100% sure but this is all from observation*. The way Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection works for Brawl is that the server looks at your IP address and connects accordingly. So JP IP = JP server; US/CAN/North America IP = US Server; EU IP = EU server; AU IP = AU server; etc. When you're doing random match this is what the server looks for and since there's no EU and AU server yet, you won't get it to work. With Friend Code, I think it either connect directly to that person (like a P2P) or it sees where that FC is located and connects to that server (like if the FC is located in the US, you will connect to the US server).

BTW, did anybody had a problem connecting online yesterday? Starting around 6 PM EST lots of people couldn't connect. First it gives an error code saying that NWFC is experiencee heavy traffic then later on gives BS about not connecting to the internet at all. Nintendo should really upgrade their server. Mario Kart Wii is just around the corner and it's going to kill NWFC!

*EDIT: Forgot to mention that I do have JP Brawl and random match didn't work until a week before US Brawl came out. So this is saying that a US Brawl server wasn't created/open until the near of the release date and could apply to EU and AU server.
