meGUI! With Avisynth!
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
MeGUI H.264 Conversion Guide | Articles - Digital Digest
MeGUI's been patched, so go to http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=151159 for the update servers. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
You know what, let's forget about meGUI for the meantime. It's an intermediate tool and needs a fair bit of tweaking. It's powerful, yes, but you have to invest some time to learn it (for example, typing "meGUI tutorial" into Google).
![]() You will probably get better results with it, but considering you want to watch video on a mobile phone, I think portability, not quality, is your goal here. So why don't you just go with Videora HTC Hero Converter - Free HTC Hero Video Converter instead (I don't use it so I can't help you any further) This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Why don't you upload one of the files you converted, so we can take a look see?
How ya doing, buddy? |
The conversion to AAC does make it sound a tad muddy.
But, that's really to be expected since we're dealing with compression. However, let me play around with MeGUI and see if I can't improve on it! How ya doing, buddy? |
I basically ripped the audio and encoded with LAME to MP3 format.
I didn't change the video, other than remuxing it with the MP3 file instead of the AAC. Tell me how it sounds in your end. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
You have to convert the audio, because it's originally in a format not supported by your phone (LPCM). If you really want to keep quality untouched then you use a lossless format supported by your phone, like WAV. But the WAV alone will be somewhere near 50 MB.
I realize that you have more stuff to convert, so I would like to try something first on one file. If it works, then I can go about pontificating you on how to use meGUI. Before I can teach you to fish, I have to teach myself to fish properly first! It's not really a case of "working hard on fixing meGUI" and stuff like that. The video quality looks good enough, it's just the audio that needs fixing. You can do that with meGUI too. It's not really "click and wait" though. You will have to do more things. But if it works, it works, eh? FELIPE NO |
I'm done, basically. It's just that my ISP's connection to my web host is so fricking slow, I'm getting like a 5kb/s upload
![]() ![]() No discernable difference, right? Right side is my own encode with meGUI. It's about 2 MB larger than your file. Anyway, check if that file I uploaded is acceptable (and will play on your phone). If yes, then we're ready to educate you! What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Did you save the file or did it just start playing from the browser? You should save the file.
If you saved it to your hard disk, what is the size of the file? It should be 25.7 MB in size. If not then clear your cache and try again. Additional Spam: Also, it's not important to compare it from the VOB. It is resized, after all. Can't really compare apples and small apples, right? How ya doing, buddy?

I hope you're not using Internet Explorer. Are you?
Well, I didn't really touch the video. The video in that file basically comes from the one you converted - I just changed the sound to MP3, is all. You'll notice the file's a bit smaller than yours, that's due to the sound. If your player doesn't show video from my file, but it could from your file, then there must be something wrong with the way I muxed sound and video. Curious. Needs further investigation. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
480x320 is a non-standard resolution and will break the aspect ratio. Does the video you converted, the one with the muddy sound, work on your phone?
As far as the investigation is concerned, I don't have the phone. You will have to do the investigatin'! First, download this file (5,448,960 bytes) Second, install MeGUI and update it to full (version 0.3.4.12 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE SERVER) Third, post here for further instructions. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Okay.
In MEGUI 1. Tools > Muxer > MP4 Muxer In MEGUI Muxer 1. For video input, click [...] and select your file, Mother converted.mp4 2. For Audio 1, click [...] and select this file, 05 - Mother Ta0 48K 16bit 2ch.mp3 (5,448,960 bytes) 3. Here's where we do the investigation. Under the Device Type dropdown, you can select from "Standard, iPhone, iPod, ISMA, and PSP". I want you to try each and every one of these options, and see if the resulting video will play on your HTC phone. 4. Click Queue. Back in MEGUI 1. You're currently at the Input tab. Click on the "Queue" tab right next to it. 2. Click "Start". Processing should not really take more than a few seconds. And you're done! I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
At this point, I have no idea Chingy. It seems MeGUI won't do it for you. I'd stick with that program, and the muddy sound
![]() For what it's worth, here's my attempt, which I'm almost positive won't work on your phone. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Sorry dude, I got nothing.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
