As for freelance translations, I suppose the going rate depends on the difficulty of the translation, as well as the language in question. For instance, it should be more expensive to translate something obscure like Vietnamese, compared to Spanish. A technical paper should also cost more than, say, a magazine article. Be warned that the advent of crowdsourcing tools such as Amazon's Mechanical Turk (leveraged to good effect by this company), is bringing down translation costs. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
