Hard disk is basically a bunch of very thin round platters that spin very fast. Clicks can be caused by a faulty read/write head or maybe there's been some damage to your platters.
At any rate I don't like to hear clicks on my hard disks. Transfer data out, pronto, if you can. I hope your drive is still under warranty so you can get a replacement. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
