You can try this service first: Windows XP Login Recovery - Window password recovery within minutes.
I haven't tested it, but they claim to have free service (just takes 3 days, is all). Alternatively, you can blank out the password with a linux boot disk, although this method will make all of the files you encrypted with the old password unreadable. I have used this successfully, although you should probably try the first option first. Offline NT Password & Registry Editor Additional Spam:
I seriously doubt he's got a 14-character password. Free rainbow tables available for the following characters: 0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMN OPQRSTUVWXYZ If he uses symbols such as !@#$%^&*()_+-=,./<>?;':"[]\{}| then he has to buy the tables from Objectif Securite... Jam it back in, in the dark.
