The message indicates you are trying to boot off a non-existing LAN. Change the boot order in your BIOS as appropriate. If symptoms persist, check your hard disks for errors.

I'm pretty sure it's either an issue with the boot order (CD -> Network -> Hard Disk) or there's something wrong with his hard disk. I'm positive that's an error message that appears after the power-on self test.
I got the same problem myself, when my hard disk conked out. My boot order was set to (Hard Disk -> Floppy -> CD -> Network). As I didn't have any bootable floppies or CDs, it tries to boot off the network to no avail. When I inserted a bootable CD in it, the message disappears, but of course the hard disk was nowhere to be found. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
