I strongly recommend. This is an awesome idea Acer.

I'm kind of disappointed, when I heard you mention Hercules. I thought you were going to refer to this really bland cartoon I use to watch as a kid.

Shin, I actually do have Mysterious Cities of Gold somewhere but to be honest the only thing western about that show is that it's primarily found with an English dub. Otherwise dats some anime, bro.

http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl...anime&aid=1006

But then again what 80s animation wasn't farmed out east?

However, I'm a little reluctant to show any long tv shows and would rather showcase a movie instead as I'm only doing this once a week as opposed to how I run the anime club here.
Well I for one, definitely support the idea Acer. I'm bag fan of the cartoon series of the 80's and 90's. I also loved a lot of the animated movies during that time frame as well.

I personally would love to see some 80's or 90's animated series showcased on this. I think one of the best things about most cartoons especially from the 80's and 90's were a lot of them had self contained episodes. You really didn't have to watch the rest of the series to know whats going on. The intro pretty much took care of who the bad guys and good guys were. It is always based pretty much a battle between good and evil.

I wouldn't see any problems if you could show two episodes of a random western animated series and show a movie after-wards. Hell, I would stay for the entire thing.

Honestly Acer, I'm just throwing a friendly suggestion out there. I know this is your baby and I don't want to make any more work on your part, but I absolutely loved almost all cartoons and animated movies in the 1980's and 1990's. I will fully support this and you will see me there every week. I just wanted to give a few suggestions if your looking for some western animated movies to show in the next couple of months.

The Secret of Nimh
An American Tail
Ducktales: The Movie
Babar: The Movie
The Jetsons Movie
The Prince of Egypt
Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker
Watership Down
Reboot Movies (Damon Rising or My Two Bobs)
The Transformers Movie

Also if you can find this my friend, I will commend you ten fold. Its a cheesy direct to video animated movie, but I remember enjoying it as a kid a lot.

Acer, if you did want to go the route of showing a few episodes of a different western animated series, I would love to see random episodes of:

Exo-Squad
Botsmaster
M.A.S.K.
COPS
Dungeons and Dragons
Centurions
Dino-riders

I hope it continues to be a success Acer.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I would think it would count LeHah, since a lot of cartoons in the 80's and 90's were animated in Japan and Korea. The best example I can think of is Gargoyles. Gargoyles was an awesome western cartoon, but it was animated in Korea or it could be Japan as far as I know.

Edit: Nevermind, you changed your initial post.

They use to show this Pinocchio Cartoon on YTV (Canadian equivalent of the cartoon network in the US) back in the early 1990's, but its not a western cartoon. Its obviously anime.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Just wanted to note that this Wednesday's show is now available in the archive.

Also, I'm thinking about showing Archer for the next two weeks if there aren't any objections.

Actually I've thought of something that might be fun. WAW stands for Western Animation Wednesdays. Well I suppose it could also stand for Western Animation Weekends too. Would anyone object to me just doing marathons on the weekends? Keep in mind I say Friday night to Sunday night is the weekend so it could fall on any one of those days. That might be good for a ten episode series like Archer. Do it all in one go. Is this a better idea?
Well I don't necessarily have any objections. You've been on the mark with the last couple of cartoons you have shown especially last Wednesday. I kind of lost hope for cartoons nowadays, but those two series you showed during the last little marathon was a good pleasant change. I would have no problems if you wanted to hold it over the weekends. I would probably only be able to make it, to once out of every two weekends only because of the long hours at my job.

I would love to see more 80's stuff Acer, but you've been on the ball for this event anyway. So for the most part everything you've shown has been pure gold. I'm actually noticing more people attending this than the anime showings.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

In celebration of the life of Leslie Nielsen we will be playing The Nutcracker and the Mouseking. He provided the voice for the Mouseking. This movie will probably be terrible but it's one of the few animated movies Leslie was a part of. That said the last movie he will be part of is The Waterman Movie if it is ever completed which is animated. The main character who he plays is a dashing older gentleman with white hair much like himself. It would have been nice to have that on hand as well but instead I will pair TNATR with another movie starring a dead comedian: Rover Dangerfield. Look at this as an early celebration for this weekend's Leslie Nielsen Drink-On Extravaganza! Hope to see you guys tonight.

Please take note that I've switched to justin.tv for higher quality broadcasting now so you'll need to press the play button once you've loaded the stream page (those of you that attended anime club last night already know this).

Oh! While typing this I found a silly animated superhero tv show called Zeroman with Leslie Nielsen as the star! Supposedly it's like Venture Bros or something. I dunno looks more like Canada's version of Freakazoid on first glance. I'll throw it in the mix and we can find out if it's any good.
Hey acer, if you do look for specific zeroman episodes, try to find an episode in which Don Cherry and Ron Maclean of Hockey Night in Canada fame is included with that episode.

They're called Don & Ron in the series.

I was speaking idiomatically.
