Like Omagnus, I'm also a complete whore for limited editions/collectors editions of games especially anime style games. The only problem is that it wasn't until the PS2 that I actually started pre-ordering games and getting some of the pre-order bonuses.
I had terrible access to games during high school and in college. I missed out on such many limited editions especially for games for snes, ps one, and other systems, but with having a large disposable income I'm nailing down little by little some of the collectors editions of some of the games I have missed out on. When thinking of awesome limited editions of games or rare promotional items you don't have to look no further than Working Designs. Especially with games such as Lunar, Growlanser, and Elemental Gearbolt. Working designs knew how to package their games and this remains one of the rarest contest pieces you could ever own for an anime style game. ![]() I would love to own this. It is just the joy of being a collector if I can't own the limited/collectors version of the game, I'm not interested in having the game at all. For the most part, I can't think of anything that I really don't like about pre-order bonuses. I definitely like art books and soundtracks and like guyintherubber has said I actually like behind the scenes footage. The one thing I've always loved about the Lunar games, is the voice outtakes at the very end of the game. I would like to see more games do this, because I found the voice outtakes in the lunar games incredibly hilarious. I can only imagine that other games have had a lot of fun doing the voice acting in the game. You can always count Atlus, and NIS America to include quality bonus content with their games. I'll continue to buy limited editions of games as long as they are made available. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
