SOLDIER, can you please update the first post with proper links and torrents? None of them seem to work anymore and I'd really like to check out what this MUGEN is all about.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I have a technical question concerning the M.U.G.E.N. engine:

I started making my own collection of fighters and stages by manually adding them one by one to the raw copy of MUGEN /w no limit patch (or whatever). The problem I'm having is that background music in MP3 is stuttering like crazy.

Do I need to install a different plugin or something? Any help is greatly appreciated.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Someone really needs to get the first post in order here, because virtually none of those links seem to work properly. I've been trying to get into MUGEN for weeks now, but I'm having a hard time figuring out anything.

I've managed to snatch some characters from this thread and the ALL CHARACTERS ZERO BATTLE complete set from somewhere, so this is everything I have to get started. Somehow I managed to start my own collection of characters and stages with a clean copy of MUGEN, but ever since I wanted to install that EVE screenpack everyone is talking about.

Although this question might sound dumb and has been asked previously but how do you install this damn thing? I'm dropping the folders in their appropriate place (overwriting some files) but it doesn't seem to do anything.

I'm sure we all agree that newbie questions such as these should be kept out of here, but in order to achieve this, the first post needs to be updated with at least some working links and basic guides on how to do things with MUGEN! In its current state, this thread isn't of much help (if any at all) for us MUGEN rookies.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I finally managed to install the EVE pack. The archive I downloaded had improper path names, so I had to manually move files to the data folder. Finally, works like a charm.

Now I need some help in customizing the character select screen. EVE should support categories, right? Because I don't seem to be able to use character categories in my copy. What do I need to do in order to use categories?

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I'm having weird issues with some SF2 characters from my collection: Every once in a while the A.I. decides to open up a menu in the middle of the fight and navigate through its options (all in Japanese).

I have no clue what this is and there seems to be no way to close the menu other than waiting for the A.I. to quit it and unpause the game.

On a releated note, some of these characters seem to act on their own even when in VS mode. As soon as I approach the other (human) player's character, it would strike at me without the player even pressing any button.

Needless to say, this is really annoying and something I need to get rid of.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Can you post your .def files? Categories have never worked for me in EVE.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

You know, if the authors actually bothered to put at least a few English words on their homepages and not have tons of broken links and popups everywhere, people would actually bookmark their sites. Unfortunatley, the vast majority of creators isn't capable to put together a decent homepage with working links for their characters.

So yeah, I'll gladly take these warehouse sites over the author's crappy homepages any day.

If so, she is on the first page of google, along with the entire pack of all these characters.
I think this is the second (or even third) time you linked to google.com saying that it has characters on its first page, which makes no sense and is ridiculous, especially by linking it via another website. Seriously, why are you even posting here? Instead of helping out, you're just cluttering up the thread!

Besides, this whole thing is on its way to the shitter. I have a feeling that if posting quality doesn't improve dramatically from now on, this is going to be closed soon.

@WooshaQ: Thanks, I'll gladly try out your ending. I'm also interested in your game, if you ever choose to release it to the public.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
