If you have some sort of exploit installed on your PS2, you can just use a filebrowser (e.g. uLaunchELF) and copy memory card saves to USB, HDD or transfer them to your PC via FTP.
I just regularly back up my savegames to the internal HDD of the PS2 or to a USB flash drive. No external software required. Jam it back in, in the dark. |

Another advantage of the uLaunchELF method is that savegames are stored in their original "raw" format, as opposed to Codebreaker, Action Replay, Xploder and all that stuff using proprietary file formats.
