Too bad. I was under the impression that Cobalt had his PS3 hooked up to a computer LCD via DVI-D. I don't think there are a lot of displays that support HDCP for DVI, though ...

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I meant displays with DVI inputs. Never seen an actual television with DVI.

So PS3 and computer monitors are absolutely no go?

I'm still curious on what setup Cobalt is using, though.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

For games as well as BluRay movies? Because that monitor sure as hell isn't HDCP compliant. That would be awesome news. I don't feel like buying a full-fledged HDTV yet, and a monitor like that should be excellent as a temporary solution to enjoy the PS3 in all its HD glory.

EDIT: Just double-checked and noticed the 2007WFP does indeed support HDCP over DVI. The Dell page just didn't state it. Too bad ... -__-

Are you thinking about just returning the damaged box without opening it or why are you posting these pictures?

I was speaking idiomatically.

How would he print? Who does word processing without printing the pages?
Last time I checked, Linux supported USB printers. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Nero MediaHome and TwonkyMedia are popular DLNA server software.

So with these DLNA servers, should I theoretically be able to stream ALL of my music, videos and pictures to my PS3 downstairs? Do I just set up the DLNA software on my PC, and then search for it on my PS3? I really need to get this thing working.
So.. watching .avi files on your PS3 through streaming should be possible?
I think it's possible through transcoding at the moment, though support for DivX/XviD playback might just be added to one of the future firmwares, if Sony keeps up their current course of awesome updates.

Of course. DLNA works over anything that supports the TCP/IP and UDP protocol, from what I know. Your PS3 and PC just need to be on the same network. Port forwarding is being taken care of automatically through UPnP.

Isn't it possible to connect the PS3 directly to the computer without using any router?
Is there any indication as to why it would not be possible?

There will be DRM restrictions in place, trust me on that. Sony is out to make money with Home at some point in the future, they won't just ruin everything beforehand.

First screenshots of Home seem to indicate it's a gathering of hipsters, it's only fitting they wear Adidas and D&G.

I wonder if Sony will ban players violating a certain fashion code from their service. "Sorry, only cool people allowed!"

Yeah, and it affected a limited number of discs from a single movie release (The Prestige). It even says so in the thread you linked to.

BUT CLEARLY BLU-RAY IS ROTTEN TO THE CORE!

Are you even Megalith.

A 5.0 from Garnett Lee? It's official folks, Lair sucks ass. I blame it on the hype.

How ya doing, buddy?

What "Final Fantasy VIII [PC] hype" is this you're talking off? Must have missed it.

What I meant was that expectations for Lair were so unjustly high that there was no way for Factor 5 to ever meet them.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
