It changes because of the jpg compression. Same with gif and PNG8. PNG24 uses more colors, so your original color choices are preserved.

I don't think there's any way to have jpg save your original color choices. I just did a test of both saving methods using the maximum setting (lowest level of compression) and both yielded the same color after saving (141A4E)

256 colors, adaptive color palette. It's not really that bad. Not as good as the png, but...well you gotta take what you can get with gifs.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
