ok week, not as amazing as others though...
3pt: Immortal 3 - Ork (8.5/10) Thank you, I missed this song while I was archiving the Immortal 3 album into my favorites directory. I think the power to this piece is the fact that it continues to develop throughout the entire song, always sounding like something is building up to the final theme. If the song continued to develop on the piano, I would also enjoy it just as much. 2pt: Total Annihilation (Red Book Audio) - Brutal Battle (7.5/10) Quite a strong song, I know that it sounds somewhat busy at different points throughout the piece; however, it really isn't completely random. 1pt: Icewind Dale II Soundtrack - Heart of Winter Theme (7/10) I actually really like this track. The number one thing I don't like about Soule is the fact that some of his music is sometimes too ambient... Myst sounding... if you really think about it. However, this song has a lot of energy in it, just like a few of the other intriguing Soule pieces out there. Fuujin Ryouiki Eretzvaju Original Soundtrack - A vision [Al] (6.5/10) This song seems to never stay with the same tune, which makes it a big plus for me in this case. I do recall hearing similar styles of music somewhere in Wild Arms as well, although the song itself uses completely different instruments. I still don't feel completely wowed by the track, but the song is definitely above average. Ganbare Goemon Mononoke Sugoroku (N64 Game Rip) - Deepsea Shrine (6.5/10) Honestly, I really don't think that this song sounds like something from Uematsu. Instead, I think it really sounds like some of Mitsuda's old compositions such as Chrono Trigger. Uematsu's old "classics" simply bore me to death. Instead, this song at least makes me listen to the whole song. Quite impressive for an N64's synth. THE ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK ALBUM OF GIANT EGG ~ MUSIC POPPED OUT OF THE EGG - BANG! BANG! BIG HORNES EXPLOSION (6/10) Honestly, I know it's a big band piece, but I really think this is too generic. However, that's the longest and strangest title I've seen in a very long time. Albert Odyssey Gaiden ~ Legend of Eldean - Main Theme 1 (6/10) I suppose this is one of the themes where I'm supposed to feel interest in the track because of the instrumentation, because the melody itself is extremely simple. I think that the song itself has been done before--that is, the instrumental style is extremely familiar and probably not completely original. That being said, because the melody is too simple for me, I think this song is still lacking a tiny bit. Gore Screaming Show Complete Sound Archives - SADISTIC SEXART 2006 (5.5/10) Honestly, I think this song really lacks a strong melody. I know that there is a lot of instruments merged into a single song, and the melody goes extremely fast, but honestly, I'm not very surprised. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
