Yeah, I've heard of Seasonal Affective Disorder.
My mom always gets a bit depressed during the wintertime... She actually bought a flourescent light and sat in front of it for like an hour a day to get extra light. But, she's kind of weird, so who knows if it even works.
Get outside as much as you can. Friends are also a good distraction. I understand what you mean about the pills. Sometimes they can just make you feel so neutral that you're like, "Screw this, I'd rather be alive and crazy than a friggin' zombie." I'm not crazy though; I'm depressed. Winter is pretty bad, because that's the season my boyfriend and I spent a lot of time together.
GOSH, now I feel sad. Must distract! *colors a map of the middle east*
Jam it back in, in the dark.
